I don't really understand the angst over Asamoah. First, it's round 3; we haven't landed a full-time starter from the 3rd since 2015 (Hunter). Second, he's incredibly similar to Kendricks and we used a 2nd for him. Ohhhhh wait - there's a pretty strong contingent of posters who dislike Kendricks, aren't there?
The one that worries me most is Booth. Steal? Well...I hope. But consider these statements:
1. "he hasn’t felt healthy on the football field since high school. He’s had two surgeries in the last year alone and battled multiple injuries."
2. "if he can stay healthy, the Vikings could have a steal at 42."
#1 pretty much proves #2 won't come true. Laquon Treadwell was healthier than Booth when we drafted him.
Lol, there's like 2 posters who think Kendricks is too small. And the vast majority on here, including me every chance I get, have pointed out that the dude is nearly All Pro and the same size as MLBs on many successful Defenses.
Treadwell doesn't compare to Booth at all. He had a major injury that he never fully recovered from to regain what explosiveness he did have. An injury that was described at the time as one of the worst in recent memory.
Booth played through a variety of injuries. Played. Not missed a ton of games. Nagging enough for him to never feel 100% himself on the field.
Ding him for always being dinged up, ala Cook. But let's not compare him to a kid with a major injury that caused him to miss a significant amount of games that he never recovered from.
As for me, I'm going to trust the new Athletic Trainer. The Rams seem to have figured something out regarding how to help keep their players healthy. The medical staff signed off on Booth. That's good enough for me for now.
Yes, I see the differences between Booth and Treadwell on injury types, but I really hate counting on someone who is frequently hurt to suddenly stop being hurt. Booth has been injured throughout 3 straight football seasons, and is moving to a league where he will get hit harder by opponents who are bigger and faster...well, the new training staff better be good.
