Though to PurpleFloyd's case, a collapse in the NFC Championship game is something I find to be unable to wave away with excuses. Belichick's defense did get cut through like swiss cheese by Foles, but his offense was able to go nuts against a really good Eagles defense and kept it a close game. Zimmer's squad was terrible on both sides of the ball in the biggest game of his coaching career. It would be easier to swallow if Zimmer's teams were a regular in the playoffs, but going to the playoffs 3/8 years and getting obliterated the one time they made the Championship game...
