Having serious doubts about KAM already?

Oh, for Odin's sake...how gutless does a "fanbase" have to be to throw in their (likely lace trimmed, embroidered) towels to quit before Spring even started?

We BARELY lost a slew of games last year, mostly because our ousted coach was an obsolete curmudgeon who'd become a sour, elder brat after losing a degree of power after 2017. The truth is: he was never great at running offenses, he was WILDILY overrated at developing defensive backs (Wayes? Hughes? Bueller?) and it frankly behooves our incoming regime to see how well the new team philosophy/culture works with some known elements in place.

I'm sorry, Cousins Hate Club, but not everyone are members...including the HC, who likely has a bit more NFL experience, and specifically knowledge of the player, than yourselves. Good luck contesting that.

The assumptions that "blowing it all up" was necessary are silly, we've seen many teams rebuilding for eons (Detroit, Cleveland, etc), and I laugh out loud at anyone that thinks yanking major pieces out of a known powerful offense with proven rapport is a statistically brilliant idea. I defer to our new GM on that, feel free to call him up and tell him he's wrong. Please record the call, and post it here for the rest of us.

I'm not in love with anyone's high cap numbers, but I also have zero control/interest in that babble. The guarantees/bonuses/clauses/etc make it all vapor-math in any case, so all I really see is that Cousins is guilty of wanting contracts with less nebulous BS in them...oh, wait, like some other sports enjoy.

It's really kinda fuggin' draining when every corner of internet/web/social media is a bunch of so-called Vikings fans showing their 'resolve' by whining, b***hing, and quitting on the incoming regime barely weeks in. No draft yet, no camps, merely a few contracts and press conferences...that's IT...and this thread is one of dozens (hundreds?) all repeating the same dribble.

It's fuggin' March 20th, kidies. Our offensive weapons look to be intact. The feared Hunter departure didn't happen, and some cap flexibility might still be in the cards. We have a coach that isn't a "Sour Patch Senior" and a new GM that'll definitely care what the tangible results bring...

KAM knew nothing about American football coming out of college: no rules, no plays, no anything.

OK, one at a time:

1.  I'm chipper that we did a huge culture change after 8 years of a HC that was increasingly flawed and apparently couldn't work with the GM.  Will it work?  We'll find out.

2.  The "overpaid QB" will be, again, market correct within weeks (per actual productivity) as yet more blockbuster deals are coming down the pike.  As for what he's won...well, he couldn't win in prime time, then he did with us, on all three prime time nights.  He couldn't win a playoff game, but he beat Brees in NO in the postseason...in Purple (it's kinda sad how that doesn't count to "Vikings Fans").  Stafford had won even less until being dropped into a stacked Rams team.

Simple fact: no QB has ever WON BY HIMSELF.  Without the blocking, the receiving, the game planning...it doesn't happen.  That myth needs to get murdered.

3.  Hunter's health is a concern, I figured he'd be traded.  Again, we'll find out.  I'm not a doc, and the team can afford pretty amazing ones.

4.  Until the FAs play, don't pretend to know what they'll do...unless you can prove time travel.  Until then, that statement is meaningless, speculative babble.

5.  None of us know what was tried, as most of the unsuccessful trade/contract attempts don't get reported.  See #4.

6.  Either prove telepathy, prove that you have the Wilf's diaries, or just admit that you like talking s**t about what people think with nothing to back it up...in other words, telling petty little lies.

Given your record with the above points, it sounds like you're just determined to talk smack about things not going your way.  I'm gonna wander back over with the real, functional fans, thanks.

Nobody cares about the Saints playoff win because it never went any further. Nobody is impressed when you are a flash in the pan, which is exactly what the Vikings amounted to that season. Why don't you enlighten me what big primetime games Cousins steps up in and wins? You can't, because his primetime record is abysmal.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, man.

We couldn't follow up the playoff win in NO because SF ran right through both of our lines.  They did it to GB a week later, en route to the Super Bowl that season.
After that, the "flash in the pan" maybe did have a bit to do with the defense dropping to within inches of the bottom of the NFL...and the babbling twits who blame that on Cousins somehow forget that a lump of his money was pushed to this year...allowing a huge defensive spending spree that amounted to, well, Zimmer being exposed as, inarguably, the problem.  The corners he "developed"?  The big defensive signing, traded away after a handful of games...and so on.

Meanwhile, Cousins, Cook, JJ, Thielen, and the rest dusted themselves off after a rough start and were among the best offenses in 2020 despite the s**t OG play.  With competent playcalling, they easily would've been top 10 again this past season...but, hey, gotta send Cook straight into the DTs at least a dozen times per game!

The new regime almost can't help but be smarter.  Yes, I expect some growing pains, but I also think the retained veteran players are partially kept to minimize those exact issues.  If Kirk, Harry, Thielen, and others are tapped for their knowledge/experience (as has been broadly announced by the new coaching staff), this team can actually build, rather than be kept in the downward spiral of Zimmer's waning relevance.

Maybe it's Kool-Aid, but I cannot fathom a single good reason to be a sneering, pissy quit-b**** 6 months before the first game starts.  Like I said previously..."redressed Lions fans".
