The thing with Cousins extension isnt even getting talked about here is, The Wilfs told KAM and KOC that Kirk was still our guy, for at least 2 more years. I wonder if he told Rick to extended Kirky before as well. We are effing doomed if the Wilfs are calling the shots, and not even letting KAM and KOC go see if they could get a great trade for Cousins from some dump of a team.

Skor North is saying they heard teams weren't in on giving up firsts to get Cousins, but multiple seconds and conditional thirds were talked about with at least one team, the Cleveland Browns. Swap QB for QB and get 2 2nds and maybe twist the arms for a conditional third? Would you have done that? I think I would have.

I think you're right here. He committed to one more year with zero increase in base salary. The only concessions that he "demanded" in return was a no trade clause and pulling $5M forward into 2022. That's about as close to "team friendly" as it gets in today's NFL. It really cuts through all the we've been reading here from posters who claimed that he was going do demand $40M to $45M per year, fully guaranteed, on a multi year extension. At least we won't need to hear about Kirk's shocking $45M salary (sic) for a while.

Yeah, we kinda have. Certainly we can include Tommy Kramer, Wade Wilson and Brad Johnson (the later two very low round draft picks). We could also probably include Bill "Boom Boom" Brown's son-in-law in that discussion as well.

I agree. With a stroke of a pen (conversion of Hunter's and Harry's roster bonuses to regular bonuses), we can free up $19.5M of cap space. That allows us to keep everybody if we so choose.
