He is NOT Mitch Trubiskey though. I watched some of Turdbuscuit's college games to see how he compares and Pickett is much more athletic and has the better arm. Watching his college games against better teams and he is the same QB in college that he was in the pros and I honestly don't know what Pace saw.

I trust O'Connell's ability to elevate a QB of Minshew's ability. Jefferson has already had to put up with 2 years of never being over .500, and committing to Kirk would put a similar level of risk regarding Jefferson's desire to play here.


You're going to mention Diggs after talking about how keeping Kirk will keep Jefferson happy? I get that Jefferson isn't as diva-ish as Diggs is, but how can you possibly pay Kirk like a top 5 player in the NFL when a top WR has already bailed on him?

Please let me know what you see. My impression from the 4(ish) games I watched was a guy who just about always comes off the field on obvious passing downs. Some by design to rotate in more rush specialists. Some because he needed a breather.

But those numbers. By the Gods! What if he's raw clay ala Hunter? There's a massive gulf between Aaron Donald and Chris Jones. These guys who consistently knife through Guards and Centers are Offense Killers. And there are legitimately less of them than Franchise QBs.

He's so athletic for his size that there's potential for him to be a unicorn. Something we've never seen before.

But there's more to consider than just the player. Pierce never played Starter minutes with the Ravens. And certainly has never been available enough to do so with Minnesota. Plus he's an easy cap cut.

But that foundational NT is such a huge part of an effective 3-4 D-Line against the run. Which Minnesota has sucked at stopping between the Tackles since before the rest of the Defense turned to crap.

Can Tomlinson be that guy? But then he's flanked by Watts and Lynch. Probably OK against the run IF you get a bigger ILB to go with Kendricks. But that pass rush from that group is meh with very little depth even if Twyman develops.

If I am truly committed to building from the inside out I have to admit that both Interiors aren't cutting it. Mayne some FA $ to shore up the Center/Guard and then Draft Davis and Boye to address the D-Line? Corner in the 3rd?

Who am I kidding. D still gonna stink next year.

Tomlinson was a great fit as a 3-4 DE in NYG's scheme, and I think he will play at that spot here, and then go in at DT when in 4-3 fronts. That's why I had the Vikings sign Settle and draft Jones as the top 2 NTs.


Well, we're opening a can of worms here... and while I personally thought Zimmer was more to blame, I don't think it's a coincidence that Diggs got traded the day Kirk got his extension - I can't remember exactly what Diggs tweeted on that day, but he was not happy about that.

This is one of those deals where perception doesn't meet reality. Mitch Trubisky was much worse against the Vikings than most teams he faced. If you include his rookie season he had a 74.1 passer rating and averaged 5.8 YPA playing the Vikings. Excluding that season, it only goes up to 80 and 6.8. He threw 2 TDs, to 3 Ints against the Vikings from 2018-2020 and even if you include his rushing numbers, he still doesn't look good.

The guy feasted on bad teams, more-so than Cousins, and 13 of his 57 TDs thrown from 2018-2021 came against the Detroit Lions alone. That is over a fifth of his passing TDs. It is kind of crazy how you switch his opponent to teams like the Jets and Jags and he has pretty good numbers then go back to even average defenses like the Packers and his numbers suck.

No thank you on Turdbiscuit. Marriota, Teddy, Dalton and Minshew are all better QBs.
