You are worried about Harrison Smith but not Kenricks? Smith lost a step and thats bad, but its fine when Kendricks loses 2? Hes a lb and thats ok? The drafted a LB in the body of a safety, but the slow Kendricks is ok? And you are already thinking of Kirks extension? Really? You havent realized that Kirks extensions only help him NOT the Vikings? Wow.
Lol. I enjoy talking vikings football. The angry/frustrated/annoyed vikings fan persona seems kinda played out to me so I'd rather just have fun and discuss stuff. But whatever narrative keeps you going...
I'm worried about both actually. I think they've both lost a step but are still very solid. I'm not as fiscally concerned about Kendricks. He's got his 13m cap hit this year and if he loses another step then his 1.9m in dead money for next year is not big whoop to move on from. Asamoah weighs four pounds less than Kendricks. So he could drink some water and have a few sandwiches over the weekend and be the same weight. There are a ton of really good linebackers in the NFL right now about the same size as Asamoah if not smaller. You might want to look some stuff up once in awhile. Oh and if there were only some way to replace a player at a certain position outside of the draft.
The Smith extension is more problematic due to those high base salaries on a go forward for his age 34-36 seasons. Salaries that I don't think come close to what he'd get on the open market. So it essentially just forces another negotiation for next year if they have any intent on keeping him because there's no way they take a 19m cap hit. So I was hoping for lower base salaries for both him and Thielen where it made sense relative to the market and not their legacy with the team.
It's funny how the word 'Cousins' just triggers some people. Especially in regard to money. I'll discuss with someone else while you go rock back and forth in the corner about it.
