I am less inclined to freak too much anymore about my beloved squad. My brain is calloused.....the entire new regime has lots of time in my honeymoon phase. A fewobvious fails and i will jump on, but still riding that Zimmerless wave. Its a sweet ride!!!

In all seriousness tho. Let me provide some (false🤔) hope of Kirk taking a team friendly deal...

He's 33, early on his career he got his money. Now maybe he wants a Superbowl. Maybe he says ok I got a ton of money and now I wanna fulfill my dream of winning a SB.

Iv always said I truly don't believe he is a bad person and he seems to be a rational thinker. He's certainly not stupid and for him to come out and say "I wanna be a Viking" he has to know that means while making less money then he can get elsewhere. He knows his biggest payday isn't going to be "being a Viking"....

Let's just hope for a team friendly deal. That's our path of least resistance to being a good team. Take a Brady like deal and let's fix some stuff while the NFC is awful.

What people forget is the Rams and 49erd just played in the conference championship. These are not great teams.

We can tear it down and maybe build something better 3-4 years from now (maybe is key) but law of averages says the NFC will actually have really good teams by then...

With this half ass team we put on the field we weren't that far off from the 49ers, Rams, and Bengals... We averaged 6 point losses vs all 3....

It will be interesting to see what the first major moves are going to be. Kirk may not even be first issue to be addressed. We need a solid developmental QB certainly but Cousins staying depends on his costs and the demand for him from other teams. Might have to wait for a while to see that addressed honestly. All the flow on D this off season is an important issue that may need fixed by dumping Kirk to get a player or two, but maybe not either. Either way its our weakest area right now overall.
I will wait for cap increase, other teams QB flow, and our HC to get here awhile to get a better idea which ways we might go. Right now, its all hope and guesses imho.

Lots of chatter about Kirk trades but odds are he's our QB for the next few years.

I figured this out recently and Kirk would need to average around $30 million annually to not take up 13% of the cap. I use 13% because no team has ever won a Super Bowl with the QB taking up over that % (Rams potentially could this year because of what they are paying Stafford and Goff). This is also basing that the CAP will continue to rise at the same pace (around $20 million per season).

If Kirk were to take a 4 year $100 million contact that would put him at $25 annually (no way would I expect that but just easy to round).
We then take $20 million off of his 2022 cap hit to help with the team and you spread it out over the 4 years.

So 4 years $120 million = $30 million average annually.

There is no doubt that KAM has already calculated a figure to Kirks value and what he would need to take to help this team. If Kirk is willing to sign for that amount then we make it work but if not then we look at trade partners. We can't expect to pay Kirk $40 million per and think outcomes will change.

This is accurate. He won't be here at 40mil... He and KAM likely know this.
