They are the team that will pick some unknown guy over a proven winner and then act like it was the right decision.
It's breathtaking how fast these fans can turn on a dime when subjected to just a little bit of propaganda. 80% were all in and excited about Harbaugh Wednesday morning, and after 5 minutes of spin cycle exposure, they were all relieved he wasn't hired. NO WAY!!! The good guys said it was all Harbaugh's fault? Must be true. I mean it's not like these purple pack of losers have an embarrassing history of effing everything up. Nope, gotta be the guy who's succeeded everywhere. B-b-but he just wasn't the right fit Winning wasn't the right fit huh? I suppose that's true with this franchise. He wasn't the right fit for our play it safe culture of mediocrity.
For 8 years the lack of "collaboration, communication, and culture" prevented us from winning, but in 8 hours the opposite approach has already prevented us from winning lol. Classic Vikings. Disappointing how fast the fans have embraced this new philosophy that doesn't mention anything about winning or championships. I'll just refer to it as Zimmer syndrome. It's a form of PTSD. This "philosophy" is just a collection of feel good buzzwords that everyone has been conditioned to accept because of the current zeitgeist. OMG, they used the words that everyone is using. I'm in!
The participation trophy crowd is so easy to pacify and they wonder why this franchise never does what it takes to fill the trophy case for them. B-b-but we're going to be super inclusive guys. I mean that's why we follow sports right? I just wish everyone could win all the time and hold hands.
I’m on record as not wanting Harbaugh.
What I am amazed at is how the people who are still griping about him not being hired built him up as some kind of once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity.
The fact is he wasn’t on anyones radar for a half dozen years. At any point any NFL team could have hired him from Michigan and if he was such a sure thing then why didn’t anyone do so before and why aren’t the teams still needing a coach going after him now?
