Funkytown, Uncle, and 1 more like this

I have a lot to say. First, I won the inaugural Covey Chavous Draft Challenge by correctly predicting the Vikings would take a Linebacker and QB the year they selected Barr and Bridgewater. I've got an autographed glossy to prove it!
So I do keep score. Wanted Slater last year or Darrisaw as a consolation prize. I've had a ton of correct predictions over the years like Keenan Allen being a borderline HOFer if he could stay healthy, which he couldn't in college and sadly can't in the Pros. I'm almost always right about FSU Players, too.
And I've been way wrong. I hated the Harrison Smith pick. Loved the Treadwell pick. And can go on and on and on. I got 7 of the initial 10 picks right last year. The Falcons going for Pitts over Sewell really messed me up.
I concur with Uncle regarding the DEs after the top 2. Same level guy will be available in the 2nd as Karlaftis et al. I disagree on CB. Sauce Gardner is a Blue Chip kid. If I'm not sold on Stingley's medicals I'd have zero problems taking him.
The Georgia NT, not so much. He's a 2 down Player. Zero pass rushing skills. Plus, Zimmer and Patterson's awful 'occupy blockers' approach was likely just as responsible for the poor run D as the players themselves. Better scheme and better DE play against the run plus an upgrade from Vigil/Lynch is where I want to start addressing stopping the run versus using my #1 asset.
And you have to look at the Roster as a whole. Tomlinson, Watts, Lynch, Twyman. Pierce if he's back (likely cap casualty in my book). Now compare to CB: Dantzler, Hand (unknown), Boyd (stinks). I'm not retaining PP during a rebuild. You can't go into next year with that little talent in a unit.
LB is barely better but at least you have Kendricks. Dye, Surratt and Connelly could all benefit from being coached by someone who actually knows what he's doing, unlike Baby Zimmer. But this unit clearly needs at least one more addition.
DE is also a dumpster fire. Even if Hunter comes back Wonnum stinks. His sacks are literally on QB scrambles and blown assignments. He's at the bottom in pressure rate and awful against the run. Jones was disappointing and clearly needs time to develop. Robinson is a dart throw.
DT is really not where I'm going to spend anything until the later Rounds. There's no sure-fire 3T in this Draft and they're actually rarer than Franchise QBs. And there's developing guys who've been around long enough to contribute more.
I will say that like PurpleFloyd I'm taking Pickett if he's there at #12 and sitting him for a year. Otherwise I'm not taking any of these guys until the 2nd Round.
