Of course they don't matter. It doesnt' matter that on a per game basis that Cousins has almost the exact same stats as Brady and Rodgers the last 4 years because he didn't win as many games as they did. That's all that matters. You are what your record says you are. Only problem is, YOU the QB, isn't the only person responsible for that record. A whole lot more people are. That's the whole point.
So in using that you would agree that there are other factors than Kirks play that produce the record of the teams he is on and thusly it’s entirely possible that he could certainly have above .500 records.
Every QB stat is heavily influenced by factors outside of the QB, from passing TDs to yards, to passer rating and yes, even wins. Cousins has won 7 games in a 16 game season and he has won 10, and it wasn't because he played better when he won 10 and played worse when he won 7. It is because the team around him played better when he won 10, and worse when he won 7. Cousins wins as much as the team allows him to win, which is why he is a .500 QB. On average, over a certain period of time most QBs will play on an average team, and if you have a QB who doesn't really elevate or worsen the team he plays on, they will win half their games over a long enough period of time.
In other words, the fans like you and Raptorman are mostly right, Cousins doesn't win us football games, the team does. Where you are wrong is ignoring the fact there ARE QBs who DO help win their teams games and not wanting to do everything you can to get one of those. You are also wrong in overvaluing a QB who even you admit doesn't play a big factor in winning or losing. If Cousins is just along for the ride, lets make the ride significantly better and put a cheaper option in the driver seat.
