Having an outdoor stadium on Lake Michigan completely changes how they team build. Or it should anyway. They can let the weather bring a superior offense down to their level and win with great D in the playoffs, we don't really have that option.
Basketball games aren't decided by who is best at hitting jumpers in a foot of snow or on a windy day. I'm guessing not many would like outdoor basketball in December xD. Hockey is probably the only sport meant to be played outdoors. It's probably the only reason the Purple People Eaters were ever any good. They were just better at handling the cold. Then they played the Super Bowl in a neutral site, in a warm city, and got their doors blown off. That's how you get narratives like "defenses win championships". It's more like the elements affect offenses more.
It's kinda what annoys me about baseball too. Most of the games are played in the heat of summer, then the championship is decided in the cold where the physics are different. More runs are scored in warm games, more HR's hit, fewer errors committed, more of a break on pitches etc.
