Rick time now

I agree and therefore Rick has to go too. I like Rick, he adopted young black kids and seems like a good man. This a business though and you nailed it. Rick will just keep this sacrifice the future for that year.

I been on Zim it is well documented, I wanted to be fair and go after Rick some too like I said I would. I like Rick more than Zim, but wanted to let it play out this year. The report cards are coming in and my conclusion is failing grade for both. Both responsible and need to go. For the sake of funk I wanted to make sure I added something about Rick since I stay on Zim. I know she don't like the jumping on her guy. So I wanting to be clear there is blame to go around from my viewpoint.

My New Year wish is for a total new regime!

We will have plenty to talk about if we make the changes. Look forward to those discussions if/when this is behind us. Can change my avatar and we can all breath again. Look forward to new life and energy around here hopefully within 2 weeks.

A new direction, draft, and the FA period.. Can't wait until we get to those things. This been a rough long season sunshine and coming together should behind the horizon for us y'all.

We just need to tough out this last stretch like we been doing. We almost there we gotta hold on be strong and take our lumps a little bit longer. Then we can start looking at what tomorrow brings.

No, of course not.  You're basing that opinion heavily on your own analytical look back at the history of GM successes and failures over the relatively recent past, correct?

Unfortunately that same history, going aaaaall the way back to the start of present-day NFL free agency in the early 90's, tells us that Spielman has no chance of suddenly figuring out how to build a conference champion in his 16th full year on the job... not when absolutely no NFL chief exec in that same timespan needed more than half that much tenure to get the job done.

As I look deeper in the situation. The Rick fire or not is more complicated then the easy coaching decision..

We have guys on offense and even some plug and play backups. Meanwhile on defense not so much. Why? Is Zim asking for the wrong guys? Not developing the depth better? What is it?

Kirk was the best decision on QB in 2018 putting aside the cap hit. Lamar Jackson save me on that what has he won? Diggs, Thielen, and Jefferson would have never reached those heights on WR numbers with Lamar he just dosn't throw consistent. With the way our WR talent was built we think WRs complain now man with Lamar it would be far worse.

The offense looks better constructed to me with a coach who can bring out the best offense looks like it has a future. Defense looks iffy long term right now with lack of up and coming talent and depth.

So how much is that Rick and how much is Zim when it comes to the defense and it's future direction which looks sour at the moment? Should determine Rick fate.. His biggest thing and it's big is those trades. That is clearly on him and something we need to look at the why the dumb trades for Rick?

Outside of that Rick gave  him what he wanted and the team was in every game. Close loses is on the coaching at this time Rick is off to the side. His job is to give the coaches what they want maneuver to do that and then let the coaches put guys in position to win. So the close loses shows we had a team capable of 10 wins. We just didn't do it.

Plus Rick made the right hire in 2014 Zim was the right call. It is just we peaked and Zim stopped ascending so even his first coaching hire was not to bad. A lot of twist and turns on the Rick situation. I do understand letting him go if that is the decision.

I don't know if Spielman will go. I think he is closer to the Wilfs than Zimmer, and I think he has been setting himself up to avoid blame since this year began:

• "I gave Zimmer all the free agents he wanted, really worked some magic to get so many new defenders signed..."
• "My draft picks were selected to help in the future, not now, I thought that was necessary since Zimmer wanted all those one-year free agents..."
• "The QB I picked and the offense are doing great! I gave Zimmer full control of the defense, though..."
• "Look at all the recognizable star players on this roster, I must have been doing my job...(pay no attention to our lack of depth hiding behind that curtain)..."

IMO Spielman should go. He hasn't been able to pick a QB. He hasn't drafted well outside the lucky fluke of 2015. His player trades have been marked by panic. And, if Zimmer goes, it's clear he hasn't been able to pick a winning coach. Wouldn't all that come to roost? But it's political inside Winter Park...
