But if they don't have any buyers,
I think the DeShaun Watson trade may have affected the Vikings chances of trading back, too. Prior to the Houston/Cleveland Watson trade, Cleveland was sitting at #13 and the popular pick for them was another WR weapon to pair with Amari Cooper (if Garrett Wilson fell outside the Top 10 and past Washington at #11, Wilson was often the pick). So anyone who wanted a WR that fell a little bit to #13 could have possibly called-up Minnesota sitting at #12 to get ahead of Cleveland to get that WR. Plus, the WR position is one of those positions (like QB & DE) in which teams have traded up in the past to ensure they acquire a good one - an example being the 49ers trading up in Rd 1 with the Vikings in the 2020 Draft to select WR Brandon Aiyuk.
Cleveland is also viewed as a team more in a "win-now" mode and teams behind them would want to be aggressive to secure that WR.
But now that Houston is that team sitting at #13 - a team that is still clearly rebuilding - I'm not sure many teams will be scrambling to ensure they get ahead of Houston for a particular prospect because they could go anywhere, because one position they don't seem to be interested in filling in Round 1 is the QB position. Houston has positioned themselves to just go BPA with both of their Round 1 picks as all signs point to them going with 2nd year QB Davis Mills.
It all depends on how the board falls in Round 1, but I think it's reasonable to assume that not many teams will be burning down the Vikings phone w/ Houston now behind them.
