Retool or Rebuild for 2022?

I just want to play Devil's Advocate for a second.... What if they were watching the 49ers and said wow they could do with a quarterback that has 260 yards and no touchdowns and two INT's over the course of two playoff games we're already ahead of the game or Kirk I wonder if he'll accept Jimmy G type money.

I mean if they want to try and continue the formula we have been doing since 2018 then yes that would be the route to go. But also dont forget what the Niners did in the draft last year so they are not blind to it. The Niners are essentially a better version of the team we wanted to be the last few years. Not to mention 9/10 times they likely lose to the packers, football is a game of luck as well. They just have better coaching, Dline and Oline. I dont hate Kirk, if you put him on the Rams or NIners they are likely in the same position they  are in now (Niners would be better). Problem is Stafford is making 23 million a year and was added to a good playoff team already, similar to us when we added Kirk in 2018.

The way I look at it is, if your the new GM coming into the Vikings, are you going to put all your eggs into Kirk Cousins basket? Because that is what you are essentially doing by extending Kirk. It already lost Rick his job so the new guy would have an even shorter leash. The Wilfs said they want to remain competitive yes, but they also gave no commitment at all to Kirk. Hes under contract for next year so they couldve easily gave some encouraging words towards it.

Im taking the Bills/Chiefs path if im GM. (playoff teams moving on from VET QBs) Yes I know that doesn't mean we are guaranteed a Josh Allen or Mahomes. You take the gamble to try and get your guy and build a team around him. The NFC is wide open, its all older QBs. Take a look at the AFC you have Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, even add in Lamar when ravens are healthy. Give me one of those teams all day that is the formula how to build a team. They are going to be battling each other for years to come. I get it you have to hit on your guy, but end of the day we arent moving on from Tom Brady, its Kirk Cousins who we have missed the playoffs 3/4 years with. Time to let it go, trust the new GM/HC to build their own product. 

Do you think 2 years for now Jimmy G will be the 49er's QB? That is how teams without super star QB's do it.   Unless the Vikings get lucky that is the way to go.  I see Cousins being here next year unless we can get a first for him, but we should just let him play out his contract.

I meant this year.. I mean the Niners got lucky. Score on blocked punt, block a field goal. Its luck. I hate rodgers and the pack but I call it how it is. Rest of years Niners were def the better team.
