I see what you saying and I don't hit women. There are some tough ones out there fiesty who will come at you. I have a friend who woke up to his girl with a knife to his balls and him handcuffed to a bed. She thought he was cheating and he wasn't.

Take Lala Ali, she is tough if she hit you it might hurt you. Ronda Rousey. You bet not let her get the licks in first she might knock you out. All women not created equal some just as crazy as a man. So I say if something happens move on, so it doesn't come to that.

I never hit a women but can't say I never would. Because if they was beating me with something I would do whatever it took to get her off me to protect myself. There are extreme cases that makes me say never is a strong word. No argument would make me hit a women. I taught my daughters taekwondo and pressure points. One of my daughters 5'10 and solid. I taught them combat and how to defend themselves. There are women out there that will beat your ass just like a man. Don't put your hands on me nobody. Thankfully I don't have that problem or I would leave my wife.

I agree, and as I said, the situation where I would be okay with it is extremely rare, not non-existent. I don't know what happened here, I hope he was justified in whatever he did, time will tell.

Understood, but we've seen this woman, she's your typical woman in terms of build/strength. Cook on the other hand is not your typical man in terms of build/strength. Crazy doesn't overcome the physical disadvantage this woman was at in a confrontation with Cook. Of course we don't know the full details, the window is cracked open for this being justified, but just barely.

For all but the best marksmen hitting a target at any distance with a hand gun is a crap shoot. I qualified as expert in Marine bootcamp with the M16, I was less successful with the .45, and we had very little training with it to begin with. When I had to re-qualify I never again attained expert status, in large part because we had very little time to practice. You don't not shoot for extended amounts of time, and then shoot well in spot duty. Shooting is not like riding a bike, you do lose those skills if you don't practice regularly.

Cook is big, strong, and has fast twitch muscles, there are simply not many situations in which he would need to strike this woman to the extent that he did based upon the image shown in this thread. I'm not saying there are none, but I honestly cannot think of one.

Last thing then I will leave you alone. My sister was in the military and she learned how to snip. Never knew how to shot came home a expert. I never been in the military so I defer to what you say. But I do know my sister went in never holding a gun in life to coming home comfortable in that department. Plus she came home and taught me a neat trick how to disarm somebody with a knife.

I had never fired a rifle or gun prior to bootcamp, and like your sister qualified as expert. Much like golf, coming into it with no experience is often better than coming in with poor form developed from prior experience. And again, like golf, you cannot walk away for extended periods of time and return at the same level, without the same practice.

Being comfortable is not the same as being effective!

My sister, My first Cousins, and my best friend who is active. All said that they did learn forms of unarmed combat. Learning how to defend against more robust bigger attackers. They say different. Thank you for you service let me say. Like I said I defer to you brave men and women I not experienced and never been in the military. I do know people who have though and I ask questions.

That's interesting, maybe things have changed. I was an aircraft mechanic, and the only "combat training" we received after the 13 weeks of bootcamp was re-qualifying with the M16. Of course that was over 30 years ago, so surely a lot has changed. Even so, there is no training that will advantage a small woman over a man of Cooks size and strength!
