It's just so frustrating.

I've been frustrated with the offense all year long. But I keep hearing this close game stuff is by Zimmer's design and that's why he should be fired. His offense not sustaining drives and coming away with 7 is NOT by design. It's just lazy.

It is lazy but we've seen 11 point leads disappear. Now a 14 point lead turns into a OT loss. It might be lazy but it's a definite pattern and it has cost us another season.
I wanted change last year and was told you don't do that. Now instead of at least having it be a rebuild year it's just a wasted year and you want fair? You want real answers to what we've watched for 2 years now. You were one of the cheerleaders for this year. You need to own that. It must be hard on you more then us. Or the same but different reasons. It is what it is.
What Mike wants and what we get is two entirely different things. His teams have repeatedly been in close games his whole time here and now it's cost him and us.
Who we going to blame?

If being a Viking fan was easy ~ everyone would do it.

Sometimes players have to make plays. And for the most part, they did that today. The Ravens made a few more. It happens.

I don't understand the suggestions that Zimmer's philosophy is to play games close. It's so illogical. Why would he not want his offense to sustain long drives, come away with 7, and keep his defense fresh? I don't understand the narrative. It doesn't make sense for Zimmer, nor any other coach in the history of the football world.

The defense was gassed and gave up A LOT of yards, but they also played their butts off, forced a couple turnovers, and gave the offense a couple more chances. We all knew heading into this game that the offense was going to have to sustain long drives and keep Jackson (and our depleted defense) off the field.

Once again, it didn't happen. And it cost us. *flush*

This is what I mean by "Purple Pain Piranhas"

You're not really allowed to have an opposing (not hateful) opinion right now about Spielman, Zimmer, Cousins, etc. -- because it means you don't care about winning and/or are sleeping with or are related to one of the previously mentioned.

Sadly, we continue to lose more and more level-headed posters because of it. No, the Vikings aren't fun this year. They aren't. But that doesn't mean there is only one right opinion out there about what is going on and/or how to improve it.

I said it earlier, like so many times in the past, this loss was on the ineptitude of Cousins not changing the routes on an obvious corner blitz.

But I don't understand Kubiak not getting plays in on time. That was mentioned the last couple of weeks. How does that happen? unacceptable to burn time outs because of that.

Kubiak has his good moments, but then he also has his bad moments where he gets too conservative or cutesy at the worst possible times. He struggles a lot with adjustments.

In hindsight, maybe he wasn't ready. Zimmer took a huge risk at this point of his coaching tenure, but such is life. I think he sticks with him and they all ride it out together.

It just sux... I don't want to pile on anybody but it's really hard to listen to everything that's not Mike's fault or Rick's fault. Not when the season slipped away out of the gate. I picked Monday morning after the Packers game in the Zimmer be gone pool. Really what does it matter at this point? This year is wasted already so the time pasted. Nobody here that gives me hope or a reason to build off for next year. If Rodgers humiliates us at home I think you have to. Especially if the home game is 40% Packers fans. Really that wouldn't change next season. Next season is the start of change. I wanted this season to be that season of change. It gonna be hard staying with this year till the end.
Bring on the rooting against the Packers post season and the real rebuild that begins at the end. The rest is just waiting.

Yeah, it is so similar on our messageboard after a loss. The only difference is that our board is smaller than this one you have here. Both of our fan bases just want to win. There is max frustration. I get it because I feel it too. I shouldn't allow myself to post for 48 hours after a loss, because I'm not thinking straight.

Some blame the HC. Some the GM. Some want both fired. But everyone is pissed. Pretty ugly after a loss over there. I try to just keep it civil and let people vent their spleens. LOL, if it were a movie western they'd be dragging Nagy out to the nearest tree :-)

Good luck getting through this season. It is killing me (Bears season... again) and I get the angst here. You folks have a GREAT messageboard here. I know how much work goes into that. I have a great respect for what you have done with this board. Kudos to you - and also the great people here.
