I think the blame needs to be put on the offense a lot more than the defense - scoring 16 points against Dallas' defense is unacceptable. Kirk was awful, throwing the ball more at CJ Ham than Jefferson, throwing idiotic passes behind the line of scrimmage that the Cowboys had clearly figured out. Yes, the OL had a bad game, but it wasn't bad enough to be insurmountable. Throw the ball downfield to Jefferson, Thielen, and Osborn, dang it! Even Conklin, he had a great catch on the first drive!
This is why I can't stand Kirk, he's played well enough in most games to save this team's butt, but then in winnable games against the Browns and Cowboys he plays like crap.
The defensive breakdown at the end was bad, but to me it wasn't surprising and it only happened because the offense was bad enough to let Dallas hang around.
Thank you.
We don't get a ton of replays at the game, but that offensive performance was straight garbage outside of the first drive.
With that talent? Unacceptable. The defense gave them enough chances. They couldn't make any of them count. Even at the end, with the Cowboys' mistakes, 1st and goal from the 4 and can't score? Wow!
I can't wait for people to watch film. I want to know why Cousins kept throwing behind the LOS for losses. Why not throw it away? Why pass it behind the LOS when the receiver is in the defender's grasp?! Where was his confidence? Throw it downfield!
