A few things on this:
I am guessing the "2021 combine" part is an inaccuracy, since there was no combine in 2021 and the simple fact that the draft hadn't happened, and the scouts couldn't have told Courtney this at that time since they hadn't drafted Davis yet.
How come the Vikings scouts had a UDFA grade on him when basically ever other draft profile on him from many different sources had him as, at the very least, a decent (5th round or higher) prospect? I understand that the media's opinion on players is wrong all the time, but I have a hard time reconciling the fact that Davis, a multi-All-American winner, was considered to have strong tape by most draft scouts, yet these two Vikings scouts saw it completely differently?
The same Vikings scouts, may I remind you, who were part of the regime that has repeatedly failed to field an average OL and has consistently blown 1st round picks? The same scouts who probably approved the 3 other 3rd rounders who have accomplished nothing (I say this because they likely would have complained about it to Courtney if they hated Mond/Surratt/Jones too).
I did, however, see this on r/minnesotavikings:
Skolawayy:
I heard this exact same thing from a trusted source. I've said it before on here. Most of the scouts thought that Davis would go undrafted.
He did the same thing with Mond, but his grade was a 4th-5th rounder.
To my knowledge she is being 100% truthful here and I'm surprised it took this long to come out. I know it's hard to believe but Rick was really letting his ego get in the way towards the end of his time with us.
