Is anybody's guess. But let's break down what's coming up.
The Cowboys-Beat Minnesota with Carrottop at QB last year. Zimmer is the anti-Reid coming out of bye weeks. The Vikings are 28th against the run and the Boys are Top 5 in rushing. While their O-Line is not as fearsome as it was 4 years ago, it should be the 2nd best one the Defense will see behind the Browns to date. And we all saw how that turned out.
Peterson is out. So that means Breeland will likely draw Cooper. Dantzler will draw Lamb. Boyd will draw Gallup if he's back. Or Wilson. How many WRs do they have? They have a legit TE in the passing game too.
The best way to beat them would likely come via a shootout. You don't win shootouts when you spend 50% of the Game doing nothing on 1st and 2nd down. Yes, the Offense got going in the 2nd Half, but they are still settling (and oft times playing for) FGs instead of TDs. With an unreliable Kicker.
This profiles as a two score loss and a real exposing of a Defense that, while improving, still struggles against the run and just lost its best CB. Oh, and did I mention it's a Prime Time game?
@ The Ravens-Loss. They can run it. With pretty much any RB off the street. Mobile QBs always give Mike fits. They can go deep. You're going to lose either Kendricks or Smith to covering Andrews. Nobody is fast enough to shadow Jackson.
They're Defense is showing major signs of life. Nothing here says 'winnable game'.
@ The Chargers-Big game. Season defining and highly impactful regarding the future of this Regime. Minnesota fans will pack the place. Herbert is great but they're still young (as evidenced by the thrashing they just received in Baltimore).
It's a shame we won't get to see Peterson vs. Allen in a battle of two future HOFers. Mike Williams is a load. Eckler is perpetually underrated. Can Darrisaw handle Bosa? Can The Vikings get the run game going and slow him down?
This, to me, is a Must Win. I feel like Zimmer knows how to beat Waaron once a year. It's why Rahgers sticks up for Mike. There's legit mutual admiration there. So I'm thinking the Team gets the win at home.
As Uncle pointed out, 2-2 in the next 4 is crucial. And the best bet is beating LAC in their/sorta our House. Either that or Zimmer and Baby Kubes take the reigns off of this Offense for good, not just in spurts or when trailing. Mike also needs to coach for his life. Stop going all fetal position at the end of halves on Offense and Defense. Stop playing for FGs instead of TDs. Put Teams the Eff away when given the chance!
There were 8 games decided by two or more scores yesterday. 8! You get a shot to put Dallas or Baltimore down you'd best take it instead of playing not to lose.
On the Light Side of the Force: Cousins and his WR Corps. An occasional Cronklin sighting. Darrisaw. The 3rd Down Defense is back, baby! Breeland showing some signs. Hunter and Sack Daddy. Getting some pressure from Watts/Tomlinson/Lynch.
Where only the Sith dare tread: Peterson is out for most of this stretch. 28th against the run with two great rushing Offenses on deck. Zimmer's bye week malaise. Zimmer's game management. Breeland gonna Breeland. Udoh has been regressing lately. And, last but not least, Darth Field Goal Kicker.
What say you? I see darkness but am open to the light. More of a 'Dark Jedi' than an actual Sith. Where do you stand?
