Weird Season

What makes you say that?  Mayfield was pressured a ton in that game too and had lesser WRs to throw too. He also escaped a couple of sacks that Cousins wouldn't have been able too.  You switch QBs and the Vikings win a blow out with Mayfield mobility and willingness to throw downfield to his WRs.

I'd try that mirror thing if HunterMorrow can guarantee some creature ain't gonna pop out and rip my face off after the 3rd "are a bad team". 

at this point cousins, zimmer and the coaches have shown us who and what they are, their strengths and weaknesses. imo that means this group will probably end up around 7/8 wins which puts us right in the average/treading water which means we aren't moving forward until we move on from everyone mentioned

I generally agree...although a complete shift in philosophy could provide different results...what I mean by that, is to move from a run-first/ball-control approach on offense and a "bend-but-don't-break" philosophy on defense to a more wide-open offensive approach with more 3/4 WR sets and a more aggressive style of defense where they go for more turnovers....

Since both of those philosophies and approaches pretty much go against the type of football Zimmer runs, the chances of that happening are probably less than 10%. The only thing that gives me a slight pause is Zimmer has seemed to be a bit "softer" this season: ie, not completely ripping the players in the media like he used to. Some have stated he seems to be sorta "making excuses" in his post-game pressers possibly due to knowing his job is on the line this season, so I won't say it's 100% he'd never abandon his "Zim-ball" approach to football....people can do strange things when they're desperate and backed into a corner. 

But your general point I agree with: if we keep going with the same regime, with generally the same players and the same style on the field then we'll just continue to spin our wheels as "middle of the pack"....

I'm curious to see how the Wilf's shift their attitude when and if we get beat by the weak Lions. That might be the last game Zimmer coaches for us don't ya think? If the losses pile up I don't believe the Wilf's have a choice but to move on from Zimmer.

I dont think we have to worry about a 8-9 season getting a pass. The vikings need to at least win a playoff game I think to keep Zim around another year. I dont see the lions beating us they are terrible, but if the lions were to somehow win and we lost in CAR I could possibly see a change coming in the bye week, but really what would be the point ? Who on the staff would you even want to get a look at, and think of this say the Vikings start winning these games and that interim coach gets the job. Just let Zim ride the year out and hopefully get a fresh pair of eyes next year top to bottom.
