Twitter won't verify Alan Page, NFL Hall of Famer and Minnesota Supreme Court justice, citing 'notability'

Fox Sports:

Alan Page is a Pro Football Hall of Famer, a Minnesota Vikings legend, a former associate justice in the Minnesota Supreme Court and he even received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump, but despite his astounding lifetime accomplishments, Twitter doesn’t believe he has enough "notability" to be verified.

This account will not be verified at this time because the evidence provided did not meet our criteria for notability," the screenshot Page shared read. "As a result, we could not reliably verify that the account associated with the request is a notable person, organization, or brand."

A nine-time Pro Bowler, Page is one of the best defensive tackles to have ever played the game. In 15 seasons, he played 238 games consecutively, registering 173 sacks – ranking eighth in NFL history. He also became the first defensive player to ever be named NFL MVP in 1971.

While playing for the Vikings, he earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota in 1978 and, just a few years after he retired from the NFL, he was appointed special assistant attorney general and eventually assistant attorney general.

Page continued his legal career and was soon elected associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, where he served until 2015.

Twitter is basically stating that a Hall of Fame and former MVP NFL player that went on to be a state Supreme Court Justice is not enough to be a "notable" person.

well, given that the idea behind it was the ability to express a complete thought in ~~120~~ 240 characters or something like that... I think your description also fits most of the people that use it.

Some of us have been trying to point out the lefty bias on Twitter, FB, Google, YT, and just about the entire MSM for several years now, so this news shouldn't surprise anyone. It's common to refer to the lefties on twitter as "blue checkmarks" in a derogatory way for a reason lol.

It's becoming more and more of a lefty echo chamber on social media. But just compare the credentials of Page to all the skidmarks who have been verified by twitter and try not to laugh at "the evidence provided did not meet our criteria for notability" lol. Maybe if Page put his pronouns in his bio he'd gain the necessary notability.

Drank is right. Keep that stuff in OT, especially because you're just making stuff up. "Exactly why Page hasn't been verified on Twitter." Because only one side is verified? Apparently whatever he submitted wasn't enough for their criteria, whatever that means. But he's also been on Twitter since October 2017. Why is this an issue now? Likely because he wants to get verified, but hasn't submitted what they need. Anyone could pretend to be Alan Page on Twitter, right? Makes sense to dig deeper and get what they need before they do something that could get them in trouble.

Second, Justice Page was well known to have a pragmatic and law based approach to cases. Regardless of who granted him the medal, he was not a right wing justice.
