No,I honestly don't think it matters.
If Mond plays this year and is the next coming of Joe Montana-it doesn't change the fact that Cousins cap hit is so big that both trading him or releasing him are highly improbable.
If Mond plays this year and stinks? You still have Cousins for next year and can hope another year of seasoning would make Mond better.
If the Vikings utterly collapse, and the whole regime is cleaned out? The next guy(s) are going to want their own guy...in this scenario, you likely have a Top 10 pick in 2022...and it's a QB, 100%. So Mond is irrelevant, except as possible trade bait.
If the impossible dream happens and the Vikings win the Super Bowl? Kirk Cousins is going to be given a lifetime contract extension and Mond is irrelevant.
Kellen Mond was a third round pick. That means he has, at best, about a 50/50 shot of even becoming a serviceable backup and maybe a 20% chance of becoming a starter, and about 5% becoming great. He's not the QBOTF, he's just the CTWHTQBOTF, CTWHT meaning, closest thing we have to, and I think this fanbase is, in large part, deluding themselves to what Kellen Mond is...a shot in the dark that was worth taking, but is still a shot in the dark.
How many of those QBs actually became their team's QBOTF?
