I have seen a couple on Matt Ryan - they basically couldn't spend this offseason and had to trade Julio away.
Watson's new contract starts in 2021 and Mahomes' starts in 2022, and their cap hits were very manageable before the extensions officially started.
I haven't seen many complaining about Rodgers, Tannehill, and Wilson... but with Rodgers' and Wilson's ability to put their team on their back, I can understand why not. IMO the issue is when Cousins and Tannehill are making the money that Rodgers is but aren't close to as good as him...
One factor you could look at is how consistently these QBs help their teams consistently be in the playoffs. Let's have a quick look
Last 10 years playoff clinch % (if mostly injured in a year, it is thrown out)
Rodgers - 8/9 89%
Cousins - 2/6 33%
Ryan - 4/10 40%
Tannehill - 3/8 37.5% (1/6 in Miami, 2/2 in Tennessee)
Wilson - 8/9 89%
In that stretch of 10 years, Wilson never had the Seahawks go 8-8 or worse, and Rodgers had only one below .500 season. In the scenario where you would put a QB on a rookie deal in and open cap space by getting rid of them (and use the $$$ to sign free agents), I doubt that the Packers and Seahawks would do as well and win it all. The others, not as much.
