It makes sense in that Kubiak wanted his guys and got him. I wasn't happy that we passed up on the guy who is now coaching OL with Indy, but whatever. My bigger concern (that doesn't make sense), is why we've retained him given how poor the line play has been. You can argue talent, but we're now looking at a starting 5 drafted day 1/2 over the last 3 years. If Dennison cannot coach that up, one would hope he'd be gone. Personally, I'd have dismissed him when Gary retired... but that's just me.
No better time than now to build a good starting 5. It's not like Dennison doesn't have some linemen to work with. I'll tell ya one thing, if Dozier is our starting LG come September I'll fire Rico myself!!
And yes, I'm in agreement on Dozier, as I've said numerous times. I don't have a problem with the draft with one exception: not drafting Trey Smith when he fell. Anything that could push Dozier and Samia for a roster spot would have been a smart move. Oline depth can get taxed in a hurry. Guys like Dozier are always available. No need to stash one.
