The 2008 Packers had nearly identical offensive numbers as the 2007 Packers, but the defense was significantly worse. Bottom 10 as compared to top 10 I believe.
Love was widely regarded as having the highest ceiling but lowest floor of any 2020 draft QB. Fields wasn't by any means the consensus best QB in the draft either. Nearly noone had him above Lawrence or Wilson by draft time.
Every QB is more likely to bust then be good lol. That isn't saying much. I agree Love was a particularly raw, unpolished prospect, but he is also a particularly high upside prospect with rare arm talent. Mond is less likely to boom then bust, are you just assuming he won't ever become a good player too?
Um.... the Packers had a draft too bruh. And actually, Rodgers was (allegedly according to an unconfirmed rumor) telling upcoming PACKER free agents that he wouldn't be there, not league free agents. (Not that that would automatically equal us having a better offseason anyway, because, it wouldnt)
Considering GB's retained their two biggest FA's in Bahktiari and Jones, it didn't seem to affect much.
I just want to say 1) I really enjoy this back and forth with you 2) Mond might bust as well but he's a 3rd round guy who will make less over the next 3 years(incase GB doesn't pick up Loves option or extend him) 3) honestly not wearing the purple shades when saying this but Cousins will be in a much better situation then Love will be in weapons wise hence why I think a Cousins lead Vikings is better then a Love lead Packers. 4) Rodgers might be back but for how long I don't think GB drafted Love to sit for 3-4 years. 5) I wouldn't be shocked if the Packers actually worked a trade out with Miami to get Tua & picks then tried to flip Love to a team this year or next off-season tbh.
1. Thanks, I agree.
2. The difference in money between a 3rd round pick and and 1st round pick is quite negligible. Anyone on a rookie contract is very cheap.
3. Love right now would have a better O line and stable of backs, also as of last season a better redzone TE.
4. If Rodgers is back, it won't be for more then a season, they financially have a clean out from Rodgers after the 2021 season, which is why Rodgers is upset.
5. Why would GB trade Rodgers, only to acquire a low upside QB like Tua? At that point, just keep Rodgers and trade Love. Love is the whole reason they are pushing Rodgers out the door, without him, their would be no issue.
