The only way to save money would be to trade Cousins. Other than that, he is locked in for 2021 and 2022. All money is guaranteed now

Yep, we're stuck with that mess unless we find someone to take him in a trade and part of it is a contract extension that cleans up the 2022 cap number. Given how stubborn he is I wouldn't be surprised if he sat on it, said no and said he'll just play out his deal to become a FA hoping someone breaks the bank.

I am too. I want to make it clear I don’t think Mond is a for sure franchise qb waiting in the wings, but I think he has potential to be that and he is in a good situation to sit and learn awhile.

Here's what Cousins former teammate RGIII said about the Mond pick:

"I can tell you right now No. 8 in Minnesota is probably not real happy right now. Because Kellen Mond represents exactly what he doesn't do well. Kellen Mond is a big physical quarterback who can run and throw it all over the field and I don't think that's something No. 8 is able to do -- in Cousins in Minnesota. But, I think that's what the coaching staff and the administration is looking for.
