I don't get it either. Why move Ezra over not only from OG to OT but completely to the other side? We been moving guys Remmers, Elf and it doesn't work out. Play a guy somewhere and let him grow. I hear all this well he played LT in college, that is college this is the league big difference. He showed he can grow at OG and he is the only decent OG we have right this minute. Blowing a pick on a OT how? The OL is our weakest position it would be glorious to get a stud OT at 14. The OL is our biggest need. Some just want glamor spots. I know we have weapons but without protection we limited on our ceiling. I agreed with WR last year to replace Diggs this year no. This should be a meat and potatoes draft attack the lines especially the OL multiple times and with high end talent.

14 is too high for a guard unless he's really elite. We can get a lot of value and address several holes by moving Cleveland. There's no way he was drafted to be a guard.

At the end of the day, if we leave him there, fine. But if the plan was to draft a guard, we shouldn't have drafted Ezra.

I think AVT has a good chance to be a great OG. You ever heard of Randall McDaniel who we drafted early. Maybe we could trade back to 19 and draft AVT there like McDaniel coming from the Pac 12. It is risky though because I can see a team like the Raiders grabbing him. When you hurting for OL like we are you can't be picky at where or you miss out. If we can't find a trade partner what is the difference taken AVT 14 or like 19? It would be nice to get extra picks, but someone has to be willing to trade with you. Even if we traded back and got him he will be the same player at either spot. Still our top pick and still heavily counted on to fortify the OL. Either way we will be depending on him to be good? This is the position they put us in, that is why we should have prioritized OL more in FA period. Why should we not have took Ezra? We got him RD2 and he did quite well at OG last year IMO.

When you look at the traits to move a college tackle inside, it's not Ezras traits. Dude is elite from an athleticism standpoint, and it's wasted inside. Let him use his strengths, which are better showcased at LT than RG.

If we can't trade down at 14 and it's AVT vs Paye, for sure I'd take AVT. But like you said I think he's a guard, so then you gotta move Ezra.

And what strengths are those?

I'd say fast change of direction ability, great balance and speed. All categories he's pretty elite in as a prospect, and his bench reps suggest he's no slouch in the weight room either.

None of those things are more or less critical at tackle vs guard IMO

Sure, but generally I'd say the athletic requirements for guard are less than LT. If we got a guy who has the tools to play LT on the roster, use them!

Exactly. If darrisaw is there at 14 (I’m assuming both Sewell and slater are gone by then) you have to pull the trigger. He moves his feet well, can get to the next level in run blocking and has the strength to be a good lt. He is a fit with our blocking scheme. I just don’t see how you don’t take him at 14 and not have any second thoughts.
