As someone who has followed Cousins closely longer than most of us, does giving his team a deal sound like something Cousins would do?
Well.... If you would have asked me this Pre Vikings era, I would have said yes, because at the time he seemed like a pretty stand up, team first type of guy, and when I first joined the other Vikings forum one of the first posts I did eluded to his character. But now I'm not so sure with Kirk, if it was just him making the decision I think I would still say yes. But I now think his agent has made Kirk a lot of money and I think Kirk listens to his agent for better or worse, so now the question should be, will Kirks agent agree to a team friendly restructure. If they do agree, I do think it will be some sort of long term contract that will pay Kirk even more money in the long term and a few years from now the Vikings will be back in the same situation.
I do not think Kirks the type of guy to raise a fuss and complain that he wants traded like a lot of players do publicly, but I do think if I wanted to be traded I would force the issue by not restructuring and making the team have to make the choice, thus not making myself look like that guy who complains. I bet if his agent thinks he can get even more money from say the 49ers, this might be the plan then. who knows
I would give Caylin Newton a hard look when he enters the draft, he will not cost a high draft pick and I like the kid and he reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson. A lot of people did not think Wilson had the size, talent etc when he first came into the league, and look how that turned out. All the negatives being said about Caylin are almost the exact same things that were said about Russell. Hopefully Washington gives him a hard look
... and neither is this Chris guy.
