Taylor Heinicke???

Well well well, look what we have here. My boy Heineken looking pretty good. The last unknown QB prospect I felt good about. AKA the original Kyle Sloter. Except I think Sloter has been more impressive. He's taller, has a stronger arm, more mobility, and has that "it" factor. So yeah, we'll see when he finally gets his shot too.

He played in a game earlier this year where he also looked pretty good. He played the 4th quarter of the Panthers game after Haskins was benched. He went 12/19 137 yards and a TD in garbage time. Not bad for a quarter.

He started for the Panthers once back in 2018 too, but that didn't go so well. He threw for 274 yards, but threw 3 picks and lost 24-10. He was placed on IR after the game with an elbow injury so he didn't get a 2nd start against Special Ted and the Saints week 17. Teds first start since his gruesome leg injury. Kyle Allen got to beat him instead 33-14.

Heineken hasn't had much injury luck. In his 2nd year with the Vikings in 2016 he put his foot through a window in training camp and missed most of the season, and probably his chance. Was put on IR in 2017 as well and got cut. And when he made his debut with the Texans in 2018, in relief of Yates, he was knocked out with a concussion after his first pass. Then yeah, got put on IR after his first start with Carolina lol. I thought he looked pretty good for the Panthers in the 2019 preseason though when I made highlights of all his pass attempts.

So yeah, I wonder why I'm so high on that Sloooter kid. These numbers only tell half the story though, you had to actually see Joe Montana err I mean Kyle play. And for some reason he was cut so Mannion could be our backup.

The NFL is a baffling industry to me. Some guys get chance after chance even when it's clear they suck, and then some guys get little chance at all despite looking good in the small opportunity they do get, when they're not injured. 119.4 QB rating when it actually matters? Pfffff tell me what he did with his 6 pass attempts in practice that week though. Maybe he just has a switch or something?

Ooooo, someone let comet52 and VikingsBoss and that other guy know we're I'm talking about Sloter again. I know they'd hate to miss it.
