. And what’s the ultimate goal? To be competitive for a playoff spot every year and hover around .500 every year and maybe advance past round 1 of playoffs every so many years or to actually compete for a sb? If you don’t have an elite/franchise qb (which Watson is), then your chances of winning a sb are very small compared to the teams that have those qb’s. It’s not fair but that is the way the game is designed. We don’t have a qb like that as we know and what are the chances we get a qb like that under this regime? Extremely slim to none. We already know that too. If Houston’s front office and ownership had any semblance of competence, they would have been able to put a decent roster around Watson and they would be competing for a championship annually. But they are so incompetent their roster talent is bare. One of the worst run organizations in the league. I don’t want Rick running the show any longer, but he is much better at running the show than the clowns who have been running the Texans for the last decade.

This is what the Browns got for Carson Wentz:
The No. 8 pick in 2016, the No. 77 pick (third round) in 2016, the No. 100 pick (fourth round) in 2016, a 2017 first-rounder and a 2018 second-rounder.

This what TN got for the Goff:
first-round pick (No. 15), two second-round selections (Nos. 43 and 45) and a third-round pick (No. 76) in 2016. The Titans also will get the Rams' first- and third-round picks in 2017.

The Browns made the playoffs for the first time in forever, and I am sure this trade was a big reason for that. The Titans have become one of the better offenses in the NFL.

The Eagles won the Super Bowl after the trade they made with the Browns, the Rams went to the Super Bowl. Neither got a QB close to as good as Watson.

Guys in undisputed said if Jacksonville calls and offers number one overall and Houston can’t reconcile with Watson, you do it. Would instantly make Jacksonville a threat in afc (they have many early picks in the top 120) and $ under cap although his contract would eat into it). Give the Texans Trevor Lawrence on a rookie contract and new face of franchise. I know Lawrence might end up being a top qb in the nfl, but Watson is already top 5 and is 25. I would rather have him than Lawrence and both guys on undisputed said the same thing.

This video does a great job explaining the situation Houston is in and just how good Watson had to be to even win 4 games.

Cousins, 2 1sts and a 3rd?

Houston gets an okay if overpaid QB and picks they desperately need to rebuild. The Vikings get a huge upgrade at QB and somee cap relief down the road to help with their own rebuild.

Their new gm caserio said he is their qb, but the thing is if he isn’t happy and expressed he wasn’t and if he asks out them I don’t see any way the team that puts out the best package won’t get him. And it would obviously revolve around draft picks as Houston desperately needs them.

Let's not forget that even in the unlikely scenario that Watson does get traded, the Vikings are going to have to get in line and teams are likely going to be offering kings' ransoms.. Bears fans over at Chi-Town are discussing this as well.

Cousins isn't an asset in this trade, he, or rather his contract, are an anchor. The only hope they'd have in moving him would be if Kyle Shanahan really is stupid enough to still believe in him, and nobody is that stupid.

Cliffs: You'd have to pay the three picks you listed minimum to get Watson, you'd likely have to pay more to move Kirk as part of the deal.

The folks on Chi-Town were saying the same thing... and since Pace isn't getting fired, whomever's betting on the Bears to get Watson is losing their money.

Of course those type of QBs are extremely rare so the other choice is to build a team that is so solid everywhere else that Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer can manage to not screw it up.

I'm not saying they shouldn't try that route if it were available, I just can't think of a example of it ever working.
