I totally understand what your saying but a guy like Marcus Mariota who i wouldn't exactly want could get us 7-9 wins even though Cousins is the better QB he seems to hover around 8-9 wins every year. If Cousins doesn't want to restructure his contract to let us spend money on a guy like a Brandon Scherff or Joe Thuney to help him and the team then we need to flip him for a cheaper option. Plus in 3 weeks that 2022 45 million becomes guaranteed so trading him is almost a need if he wont restructure, especially since Hunter is gonna want a raise if not this year definitely before the 2022 season and Kendricks might be right behind him. Also Brian O'Neill is entering his final year and im sure no one wants to see him walk.
I would try to trade Cousins & Mattison together if it gets us a better pick. Im sure a 6th rd guy could take over for Mattison without much of a drop off since he gets what 4-5 carries a game. Outside of the Atlanta game did Mattison have a game where he had 10 or more touches in '20? Maybe a team like Carolina would use Mattison better then we do especially with Christian McCaffrey coming off a season ending injury they might not want him touching the ball 400+ times this coming season.
... and neither is this Chris guy.
