It seems like young corners don't really develop under the alleged cb guru head coach. For the cost in high picks on them over the years we have little to show--guys who never really lit up the league and bolted at the end of their rookie deals, and the current crop of top-round meh. Maybe it's the emphasis on playing great in captain rigid's system vs. an emphasis on playing great period.
If both those guys don't end up amounting to anything then we can talk about Zimmer not developing young CBs.
He developed Waynes/Mac into serviceable guys but round 1/2 picks need to yield better. To say the jury is out in year 7 of Zimmer is blind optimism. They had one of the most expensive defenses in football for a couple years there, full of Zimmer's draftees and never got close to a title. Meantime they keep loading up with db's to rinse repeat the same mediocre results.
