IMO there will be plenty of OCs that would jump at the opportunity to run an offense with the players we have on that side of the ball if Kubiak leaves.

I've said it already, but we need to really open it up. Uptempo, no huddle, give Kurt the keys to the ferrari...... new OC and Zimmy must do whatever they can to pu.p some fake confidence into Kurt. Who knows, Kurt is so sensitive that he may buy into it.........

With that in mind.... a scheme change may be necessary.... however, that could be a disaster too admittedly (mainly bc our OL is undersized and would need a makeover)....... but I still think that is our best chance for being competitive with the loser trio next season.......

Wow... I was just listening to a podcast on Skor North this morning, and Judd Zuglad predicted that Kubiak would retire (it was from Tuesday). He cited Gary's previous health concerns and the want to have a low-stress job, and he turned out to be correct.

I was annoyed with some aspects of the offense, but I really would have liked to see some continuity with this offense for once! Not many OCs get their offense to score this many points (3rd most in Vikings history) in their first year. Hopefully it means we can fire Dennison and find a good O-line coach? This is why I'd rather have an offense-minded head coach, we wouldn't be having such a turnstile at OC.

Just kidding but honestly has any team had so much turnover every year on the offensive coaching staff? Honestly has Cousins ever been with the same OC for more then a yr or 2?

Part of the blame goes on Mike Zimmer for the other OC's. Just like his track recored with kickers. No one likes the guy, they will say 'hell of a coach' as they are leaving and then laugh their asses off once out of hearing range. Just ask Stefanski. He was really broken up about leaving (roflmao)

I think Stefanski liked Zimmer more then Childress, players were screaming in the Wilfs face to fire the guy. Im sure he would've like to stay here if Cleveland didn't give him the HC gig. But who knows maybe Zimmer wears thin on the staff after awhile but Deion Sanders still sings his praise so maybe thats just one guy who dealt with him only as a player and not a assistant coach.

The concerns about nepotism are interesting, but hard to substantiate. I mean, if a kid's dad was in nfl circles and the kid was around the NFL his whole life, isnt it possible that he may know a few things about the game? I know nothing about Clint Kubiak, but I'm not going to automatically say hes unqualified just because his dad is also on the team.

My most important criteria is it is someone young enough that they have a shot at taking over if things dont work out with Zim. But as long as Zim is here, I sorta see this as an irrelevant hire. He will only hire someone who is committed to being tops in the league at running the ball on 1st and 10, 2nd and long and 2nd and short.
