As far as why I care about what other teams do, that should be obvious. I like to keep things in perspective. It helps keep my emotions in check having the whole picture.

The other issue is some just want to attach stats to prove some QBs as elite and others actually want to take it deeper. Some I will call it the it factor. That's what makes them elite plus they also have stats but that's just part of being elite. People try to insert Kirk into that group with stats and forget the other factors that he lacks.

This is what I mean, though. Taking a deeper look and keeping things in perspective.

Cousins isn't elite, or even close. That's mostly said as sarcasm. He's had elite stretches, but no, not even close. The stats I share? Those are to keep things in perspective. He's not elite, but he's also not total @$$ as so many say here. It's just lazy.

Is he a guy good enough to get it done, though? With a good/great defense and good special teams? Probably. Again, see Manning(s), Flacco, Foles, etc. Look at guys like Goff, Garoppolo, etc. too. Look at guys like Brees, Rodgers, Wilson, Roethlisberger, etc. continuing to come up short. Team game.

Yes, we all hate the contract, but don't hate the player, hate the game. The market is what it is. Now we have to find a way to make it work. Spielman better have another strong draft and then some.

So wait, Let's see. 1998 NFC Championship game pitted the the Number 1 offense, the Vikings against the number 4 defense in PPG, and the number 6 Defense, the Vikings, again the number 4 Offense, the Falcons. People forget he Falcons were a 14-2 team that year. But yeah, those stats don't matter. You sure it was the defense that lost that game? Pretty sure the Vikings offense had the ball 3 times after the Falcons scored the tying TD. Twice in OT.

BTW, the Broncos who won that year had the number 2 offense and number 8 defense.

My memory is actually full on great. Anyone that was there knew what the atmosphere was like and what happened after Anderson missed his only attempt that year to put the Vikings up by 10. The Falcons had all the momentum and the air was gone for the Vikings. The only 15-1 team to not win a SB.

The facts are as I stated not what you want them to be. Any one clamming the 98 Vikings Defense is what made them the team they where was either dropped on their head too many times or never had a brain to begin with.
