I will say that I didn't expect him to play so poorly this year; he looked great when forced into duty for about 400 snaps in the 2018 season, and things were looking up since he was clearly not the usual UDFA (I had him around a 4th round prospect). And clearly the Vikings believed in him after his two 2019 suspensions... and then he lays an egg this year, giving up 250 yards in just 4 games (source: Pro Football Refence). Ouch.

I had faith that this coaching staff could fix him up, but clearly when it comes to developing CBs I need to set my expectations very low. At this point my only confidence in that position group is that Dantzler will pan out.

In fairness to the coaching staff Hill was probably high when they were trying to develop him.

But it's okay because it was medicinal marijuana to help him handle the pain from being burned.

He genuinely played well as a rookie and has gotten worse every year since. He might have been the worse corner I've ever seen play in purple this year. 3 yards of cushion on every play and absolutely no passion or urgency. Shame that he didn't work out, but I'm glad we moved on.

I believe a lot of this is the players ability to adapt at the next level, the onus SHOULD lie solely on the players shoulders. Bring the horse to water analogy. Coaches are there to coach and develop, however, the player really needs to put in the work to be successful. All the guys mentioned above have clearly done that.

Where I believe the coaching failures begin, and end, are trying to put square pegs in the round holes. Which we seem to do a lot of, especially with our Oline.

Agreed, which leads to the question, is it the coaching and development or is it the player themselves?

Bradbury is underwhelming

Cleveland is a rookie. And playing out of position. Can't judge him yet.

O'Neill - yes

Reiff - yes (I'm amazed that this system has benefited him..... a lot)
