Yeah everyone said how easy it would be last year to this year. Now it's excuses.
Wasn't to hard and didn't improve anything nor explain how you cover up being over 14 million and how to replace anyone with no cap. Great vision on your end.
You do understand you have to have a full roster that can actually win.
Well technically they would be 7 million over with 175M million floor the CBA agreed on. But estimate on signing rookie draft class is 5 million and minus 4 million carryover so roughly 8 million if it hits the floor.
Every business has had to navigate this COVID pandemic. Every team will have to navigate it as well. NOT JUST THE VIKINGS
Do you know what contracts are going to look like next year? Are a whole bunch of Vets around the league going to take pay cuts to continue to play? Are rookie wage scales going to go down?
Will the Vikings front office be able to navigate it. I bet they do, but like I said in my opening post. The Kirk contract is the sore thumb that sticks out. Should Rick be fired over it. Yup.
No they will be 14 mill at the floor of 175 mill. Most teams wont have the same issues only a handful of teams do. There will not be a fire sale for many teams. The players that will suffer are guys that have contracts that don't meet their production or teams that can replace with younger options in FA. We can't play in FA so it won't matter if they can be had for vet min.
Cap strapped this year or next has the same effect. Teams that have room can play and pay.
Kirk is a bad contract one of many and also the fact of where the money is at now S TE WR RB bad QB and nothing behind said QB NT LB.
If you are looking short or long term we are screwed at this point. Like I have said multiple times we can start to talk again in 2023.
