Hello Vikings. I come in piece. Was just looking for info on Eric Kendricks.
I saw a few of those click bait things about who should trade for who and didn't pay much attention to it. But since Devin Bush was just lost for the year, I remembered Kendricks name was on one of those lists.
Thing is I have not heard he was being shoppef at any time. All I saw was he restructured his contract to help out.
So my question is do you think he would be available? If so what do you think your Vikings would want as compensation? And finally. It appears the Vikings are right up against the cap, could they even afford the cap hit trading anyone?
Thanks for the info

Hi Hack, welcome to the place where the pain is real in the dungeon of doom being a Vikings fan
Yeah those good old "who should trade for who lists" that are written by knucleheads who usually
have no clue about salary cap implications.
To answer your questions:
1) Is Kendricks being shopped?
The only player that is being shopped is Kyle Rudolph according to the Vikings rumor mill.
That said, there was a tweet today suggesting two Vikings veterans had requested a trade but the source isn't reliable imo.
2) What would be the asking price?
Hypothetically if Kendricks were to be moved,I would imagine a 1st and 4th would be the asking price. He's one of the key pieces of the defense so the Steelers would have to offer a lot.
3) Can the Vikings afford the cap hit?
Yes and no
Trading Kendricks would create $3.5M dead cap,but save $1.5M of cap space. Trading some of the other guys would create too much dead cap and no savings,so isn't going to happen.
At the end of the day it is hard to know what this franchise will do,some of the decisions over the past couple years have been very.............
I saw a cap list that shows the Vikings only have like 150,000 in cap space. So if the were to trade anyone... doesn't that dead cap hit get accelerated or does it start next season? I thought it started immediately.
