Have some more of this 100 year old cognac. I can't wait til we win the SB next year!" And Rick will say, "Aw shucks Mr. Wilf, you say that every year!"

If the team turns on him I could see it happening before the end. They had a situation just like this with Childress. Gave him an extension then cut him with 6 games to go. It's not really outside their m.o.

If being a Viking fan was easy ~ everyone would do it.

Is there any big difference between Zimmer getting fired now or at the end of the year? It's not like we have any coaching candidates to plug in at interim HC now that Stefanski is gone. If we keep losing games like this I say wait to fire Zimmer so we can get a better draft position - firing him could give the team a boost to win meaningless games.

Well its worth noting that she actually thought the week 5 loss was Zimmer's fault....which was truly a landmark development....although she recanted the next day. But still noteworthy that she can, on occasion,briefly break through her Great Wall of Denial. She'll have to consider whether she really wants to stay behind that wall for most of 2 years.

That's because literally ALL OF THE ANALYTICS and most of the experts said it was the right decision. I was emotional on Sunday night; by Monday morning, I was thinking logically. Some of you should try it. The Vikings are hurting your feelings right now? Okay, but why? Why do you have high expectations for the Vikings? Oh, because of Zimmer's teams. You don't remember the 2010-2013 Vikings? Zimmer spoiled you a little bit? Rough patches are part of EVERY SPORTS ORGANIZATION. It happens. There are several reasons for the team's struggles, and, no, firing Spielman and/or Zimmer midseason doesn't fix a thing. There is no quick fix. So put your big boy pants on and deal with it. This too shall pass.

Lol, Zimmer never spoiled me. He improved our defense greatly, temporarily, but he has never shown top HC ability. Quite the opposite, and I've been saying it for yeeeeeeeears.

She's the owner of the board and a female. Just trying to not be a total asshole as I still feel like somewhat of a newcomer to this board. That being said, I agree with your sentiment completely. I really wish I could go back and dig up some old MVN threads from when we signed cousins, and many of the threads along the way the past 2.5 seasons, where I have pounded the table about Cousins and Rick being a total bust. I had held out hope for Zimmer a little bit longer, but that hope was misplaced.

I can't help but feel vindicated, despite wondering how anyone with half a brain couldn't see Rick and Cousins for what they are... Losers.
