I'm skeptical that they see what the football world sees since they seem to be in their own exceptionally awful football world where the zillionaire qb has no game winning mojo, the oline perpetually sucks, the coach who hates game day can't beat good teams in critical spots, we keep burning top picks on cb's who amount to nothing special, and management pretends the team is on the verge of a SB title while making repeated bad moves on behalf of that deep delusion.

We're just a gussied up version of Detroit at this point. Even Ryan Pace can laugh at us, and he needs a laugh after picking Trubisky over Maholmes and Watson.

If people haven't learned but one thing from Rick is if there's a bad decision to be made he will nail it especially at QB. Now I could bring all the factual evidence going back to his earlier days with Miami but I think we have seen enough gaffes while he's been our HOF GM/Head of player personnel. If there are 3 QBs sitting at his door step he will no doubt f the donut right in the proverbial hole. This blind squirrel will never find the nut.

That's just it, we haven't had an O-line since the Korey Stringer days, we need a guy that can lead the team and "create" something when nothing is there, which is something Kirk can't do.

Let's face it, we're never going to have the perfect environment, at least one good enough to carry Kirk so we need a playmaker and a leader than gives this fanbase legitimate hope every year even when every piece around him isn't perfect.

Outside of O'Neill I would have to disagree, WI. Elflein and Bradbury have both struggled mightily with the former grading out as the worst guard in the league last year. And I didn't think it was possible but Samia has looked even worse than Elflein. And these guys were drafted while knowing the 3 other teams in our division had dominant defensive tackles......?

That's the problem when you draft great run blockers that can't pass protect, when most teams pass the ball around 60% of the time.

As far as the draft goes, Rick hasn't exactly hit it out of the park the last three years drafting lineman and corners, nor has he found the next Danielle Hunter in the later rounds, although he's thrown a crap-ton of picks at the wall trying to. Do you really trust him to be able to fill enough holes to make us relevant again by trading back? But to give credit where credit is due, Dantzler and Jefferson seem to be great picks early on. Gladney...not so much, but it's still early for any ultimate judgment on any of them.

I'd rather take 1 player that brings instant relevance for the next decade and gives the highest probability of beating those cheese-swilling bastards year in and year out.

I'd say Bradbury has been respectable. But they haven't drafted any guards high in the draft... and no Cleveland isn't a guard. I'm so pissed they're wasting their time on that. It's time to put some real resources at guard.
