I agree they have to go but I do think you have to give a coach GM combo about 4-5 years (within that time their better be some improvement)  It really all depends on what the state of the franchise is in from the previous regime.  

Look Cabbage man, it is illogical to ascribe one set of standards and motivations on one player and not ascribe the same standards and motivations on another in the same situation. In this case, the play of Clay Matthews is relevant because he consistently makes similar hits, even after the rule change, and Packers fans make excuses for it. You want it both ways, and you want to dismiss the play of not only Packers players but other players throughout the NFL. That bird doesn't fly here.

Watching Barr's career in both college and with the Vikings, I have never seen him make a tackle that was meant to injure a player - unlike what the Packers were doing by going for Adrian Peterson's knees and the Saints were doing to Brett Favre in the NFCCG. Barr makes tackles, and he certainly hits quarterbacks per the rules of the game, but he is not known as a dirty player outside of the Cheesehead bubble.


Adrian Peterson was a known quantity. It is obvious that you did not read posts on this board, or you would know that.

That stated, your comments on Peterson are moot because they are not germane to the topic. The point about Peterson was that the Packers, Bears, and Redskins went after him at his knees. They went low to try to take him out of the game. As I recall, players even admitted to doing that.

We also know, without a doubt, that the Saints went after Favre to take him out of the game. The intent was to injure him. Even though it was obvious, and rules were broken with unabated hits, low/high tackles, late hits, and so forth, the refs just watched and did not throw a flag. The Saints lost a draft pick and had coaches suspended for Bountygate, but that did little to give justice to Vikings fans. The Saints got their rings, so did it really matter to them afterward to get a penalty after the fact?

On the other hand, Barr was not flagged because it was a clean hit. It was within the rules of the game. The NFL front office declined to fine or suspend Barr for the legal hit, and we all know the league office fines players often.

Your premise is that Barr getting injured was karma for that hit. Does that mean that any player who is engaged with another when the latter is injured is a dirty player and deserves to be injured himself? If that is what you are stating, that is plainly wrong. If you are stating it only applies to this specific case, you are also wrong. The evidence suggests you have observation bias because Barr was a Vikings player and Rodgers was a Packers player, and you are a Packers fan. It is not objective perspective.

Before you state that I am seeing this with purple colored glasses, know that I am often vocal about Vikings problems, plays, and players, and I have looked into this situation in detail. If it was a dirty hit, I would have no reservations about saying so. In this case, it was a legal hit, and Barr deserved neither a penalty nor any compensating injury in his career to make up for it.
