Cousins onlyI had to look it up. Cousins only has 2 4th quarter comebacks with us, and 1 game winning drive. One of those 4th quarter comebacks was the tie against Green Bay, and the other was the 20 point comeback vs Denver. For the life of me I can't figure out which game was the game winning drive though. It says 2019, so I assume the Broncos game, but that drive came with 6:01 remaining and the Broncos answered by going on a 19 play drive that almost won the game. So Cousins gets credit for the defense coming up with a 6 minute stop? Because when I think game winning drive, I'm thinking last minute kind of thing.
But lets take a deeper dive and look at the drives where Cousins had the ball one last time, only down by one score.
2018 week 2 at Green Bay, down 5, 2:13 to go ... threw an INT on the first play ... tipped by Treadwell
2018 week 2 at Green Bay, down 8, 1:48 to go ... threw an INT on the first play, but bailed out by Matthews/refs, so he drives down and ties it up. It was a nice 4th quarter comeback otherwise.
2018 week 4 at L.A. Rams, down 7, 2:20 to go ... sack fumble at mid field with 1:29 to go.
2019 week 2 at Green Bay, down 5, 4:40 to go ... 3 n out
2019 week 9 at Kansas City, down 3, 2:30 to go ... 3 n out
2019 week 11 vs Denver, down 16 ... nice 20 point 4th quarter comeback
2019 week 12 at Seattle, down 4 ... turnover on downs at our own 42
2020 week 3 vs Titans, down 1 ... 4 n out
So he's had a few chances to shut his naysayers up, but chose to sh*t the bed instead.
Overall Cousins is 18-15-1 now as our QB, or about as mediocre as it gets.
18-15-1 will look good compared to what his record will be by seasons end.
