Funkytown, Purple Pain, and 1 more like this

Boy, so much bickering for a QB who really shouldn't be worth bickering about! The Vikings have had a lot of divisive players over the years, but I'm surprised Teddy has become such a big talking point.
Anyways, it seems Miami offered Teddy a deal in the neighborhood of $8-10M by my estimation. It seems New Orleans re-upped their deal to $7.25M guaranteed, and that sealed the deal. That's a lot of money for a backup QB when you're paying Brees so much, so clearly the Saints really like Teddy (throwing a 3rd rounder to the Jets was another sign of that). I would guess that Brees is going to play beyond 2019... so I'm not sure what the future is for Teddy.
Just some food for thought for the debates... why are simple TDs so important? Kirk Cousins scored us 31 TDs (yes, I added the rushing TD, believe it or not passing and rushing TDs both give you 6 points, which seems to get lost in these discussions), and what good did that do us? How many times in games did the Vikings pass against prevent defenses because we were getting blown out? I'd like to see Reignman crunch the stats on 2018 Cousins garbage time stats.
And a little more for the discussion:
2015 Vikings TDs
Teddy: 17
All rushing TDs: 15
2018 Vikings TDs
Cousins: 31
All rushing TDs: 8
Here's the thing - I don't care how you score TDs. I don't care if you have the FB run in a 1 yard TD 20 times in a year, as long as you score and win games. Why doesn't Teddy get credit for helping with the team's 15 rushing TDs (and the 3 TDs he rushed in but nobody ever gives him credit for)? Did he do absolutely nothing on all those drives where Peterson/Asiata/McKinnon scored?
Oh, and BTW, I do believe Cousins' 2018 season was better than anything we've seen from Teddy. It's just that the "he sucks" and "only 14 passing TDs" arguments are not only incredibly flimsy, but you're also just empowering Teddy fans like Funky because you're recycling the same garbage. How about you examine efficiency, big-time throws, yards per attempt, 3rd down conversions, deep ball accuracy, or some other stats to actually display why Cousins is better or why Bridgewater "sucks"?
