You might be one person on one site, but you aren't the only one who has some serious Teddy-love. My wife is a HUGE Teddy fan, since I forced her into watching the Vikes around the same time he came into the league. She is literally threatening to go be a Jets fan now.

It could have been a lot worse, She was saying she would follow him for a long time, so I was just hoping he would end up with a tolerable team, and not like the $aint$ or something.

NFL.com's Mike Garofolo reports Teddy Bridgewater won't be guaranteed a spot on the Jets' 53-man roster if they select a quarterback at No. 3 overall on Thursday evening.

It goes without saying Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty will be candidates for release. Bridgewater's shaky position was telegraphed by the fact that he landed just $500,000 guaranteed — his signing bonus — in free agency. The Jets' quarterback room probably wouldn't be big enough for the three of Bridgewater, Josh McCown and a highly-touted rookie. Bridgewater can't worry about that now, and has to prove he is healthy before anything else.

It seems the NFL usually sees one injured QB in the preseason (Geno Smith, Bridgewater, Luck*, Tannehill), so Teddy might be able to land on his feet elsewhere. I believe his odds of making the Jets are much better if they draft a more raw QB like Allen or Darnold instead of more ready QBs like Mayfield or Rosen.

Nearly two years removed from a devastating knee injury, Bridgewater is participating in the New York Jets' offseason program, but his status for the start of OTA practices May 22 remains up in the air.

Coach Todd Bowles, speaking Saturday at rookie minicamp, was noncommittal on whether Bridgewater will be a full participant.

"I can't give you 100 percent," Bowles said. "I'll see when it gets to that. Then I'll be able to tell you."

Bowles said he expects Bridgewater "to be out there throwing and competing with everybody else," but throwing and participating in team drills are two different things. Chances are Bridgewater will be limited in some fashion.

Bowles gave a telling response when asked if Bridgewater has been running with teammates in conditioning drills.

"He's been working out," Bowles said cryptically.

Also related to Teddy:

In perhaps a last-ditch effort to salvage his career, Hackenberg changed his throwing motion while working with his personal quarterback coach this offseason, as first reported by the NFL Network.

Bowles confirmed the change, adding that he had no idea that Hackenberg was planning to tweak his delivery.

"He hasn't talked to me about it," Bowles said. "He just worked on it. I learned about it after the fact."

Bowles said he hasn't noticed a difference in Hackenberg's throwing motion, probably because "he hasn't been on the field enough for me to notice." The team hasn't conducted practices yet.

"We'll see how everything goes," Bowles said. "I'm not saying it needed to be revamped or it's not revamped. Production and everything else will take care of that."

Hackenberg didn't play a snap in his first two seasons.

Ummmm you can clearly see the chain sticking out of his hoodie. This photo was faked. They suspended him from the ceiling. Because if his momentum was carrying him upward, the hood would be flat against his back. How can the hood be up? Because it's clearly caught on the chain. Plus the lights are in front of him but the shadows are to the side. Doesn't make sense. And where are the stars? There should be tons of stars in the background, but I only see Jets players. Teddy Bridgewater has looked very good in OTAs, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, and if his strong performance continues, the Jets could be faced with a difficult decision. They could trade Bridgewater — which was the plan when they signed him — or they could name him their starting QB for at least the beginning of 2018 while they continue to groom Sam Darnold. Starting Bridgewater would likely mean keeping three quarterbacks on the roster, as the nearly 39-year-old Josh McCown doesn’t really have any trade value. But head coach Todd Bowles, who is coaching for his job this year, will want to start the best quarterback he has, and he is a big believer in Bridgewater.

We'll have to keep a close eye on this position battle over the preseason. I'd like to see how Teddy looks starting games after that freaky injury.

Awesome. He seems like a really, really good dude, and I can't help but hope he is successful. Especially in the AFC where we only have to see him once every four years, and if he makes the Super Bowl (because we're going to be in like the next ten of those, of course)
