Trying to keep Cousins out of the argument but both have the same amount of Superbowls since their big contracts. Really no QB who gets a big contract wins Superbowls. That's my point I guess. No RB on big contract wins Superbowls either. Maybe both really aren't worth paying.

Any team that wins a sb has a harder time retaining the core group. Everyone wants their big pay day. Almost half the roster is gone after a SB win NFL avg is 23 players. The Chiefs are different then most teams they have retained almost everyone so it will be interesting to see what and or how they do.

What the Vikings issue is rhey haven't won squat yet have a bunch of big salaries already even after all the fat that got cut. They have money in places that don't make sense.

Well Mahomes said he's going to so did his agent. He said he knows the importance of a team he's young and money will be there as long as he plays well.

I will be curious to see what "a deal" means in that situation. 40 million per year?

He's smart enough to know it takes a team and he wants to win. He's going vfb to be rich either way. Why not win and still make a ton of money. Kirk hasn't won jack and has made almost 200 million bucks will be more depending.

Well I would bet against them winning a Superbowl moving forward after his 40 million dollar contract. I dont think they will win a Superbowl after it based on past statistics.

Again it depends on other positions as well. Big contracts kill all teams. They could be on defense. It's just how teams are constructed and how long the core group can stay together. There are always 5 to 7 teams that are legitimate contenders. If players can play to their contracts it's a huge plus. The Vikings have many that haven't.

It wasn't their contracts that prevented them from winning it all. My guess is you will find similar situations with all other high priced RBs, it isn't their contract (they aren't getting paid 10% of the cap, they are getting paid 4 or 5%), it is the fact that they don't have the QB.

QBs on the other hand can win with a massive contract, just rarely and they need to be a HOF level talent QB. There is also a limit to how much you can pay them and still win it all. Over 14% of the cap and you pretty much have no shot at winning regardless of who the QB is.

That's what I am saying. Why don't teams quit paying these enormous contracts then to QBs and RBs regardless of talent. It doesn't show it works. Should just draft and get rid of and draft and get rid of.

Bill Bellicheck does do that, but I think it is fear of the unknown that causes other GMs and HCs to not do it. Plus, some RBs and QBs are worth signing to big deals. It is just most are not.
