Are we expecting a decline? About the same? Or improvement? With Kubiak, the talent on offense, and an improved OL, why not expect Cousins to improve overall? It's possible for Cousins to continue to improve AND the others guys decline/retire. I don't see a reason to discredit Cousins; he doesn't control what happens around the league. He may benefit from it, yeah, but so what? Good for him; good for us.

The stats are pretty much why he’s polarizing as a QB here. When you look at the overall picture it looks great! As you said, top 10 in most any passing category you want to look up.

He got red hot between weeks 5-8 playing against mostly bad competition (Giants, a beat up Eagles team, Detroit, and Washington) He had 2 horrific games against Green Bay. He was erratic throwing the football against KC where 13 out of his 38 passes are considered poor per Pro Football Reference. He wouldn’t be in the top 5 reasons why we dominated Atlanta week 1, Oakland week 4, or LA Chargers in week 15.

When I think of the best QBs in the league, I think opposing head coaches have to put all of their focus on that player to stop them. What did opposing coaches do last year? Try to shut down Dalvin, and put the ball in Kirk’s hands to win. That doesn’t sound like a franchise QB to me... Does that sound like one to you?

I'd definitely put Kirk in the Goff/Garoppolo tier. I'm convinced Goff and Kirk are almost the same guy - they are both devastating using play action and have very accurate arms, and both can throw the deep ball well. When the O-line handles the pressure, they can beat any defense, but when the pressure hits home, you're likely screwed.

And yes, I know Goff and Garoppolo both made it to the Super Bowl, but football's a team sport. They both had great offensive-minded HCs in McVay and Shanahan along with great O-lines and strong running games, and not to mention tough defenses. So I think Cousins could do the same with a better supporting cast... but the problem is that he's being paid to be the solution instead of being a complimentary piece to the solution.

We could have also won a sb with Teddy.....If our defense was top 3 overall, our oline top 5 and all the weapons we have had the last couple years. Meaning that all those great things everywhere on the team would make it difficult for the team to not get to a sb and win it with even a sub average starter. But our team currently doesn’t have a top 3 defense or a top 5 oline. Because of that our qb would have to play like an elite (top 3) qb to give us a chance at a sb. That means consistently every week playing at a pb level. And also not sh!tting his pants in pressure situations.

8-14 I'm happy with my QB but would look to upgrade going forward. Some of the younger guys in here may just need more time to develop.

15-17 Young guys I might be able to salvage

18-21 Young guys that are long shots.

Goff has just an insane contract so while I do agree about preferring his age that contract just kills it for me.

I can respect the Darnold and Mayfield love, I may be jumping the gun on them but I don't like what I've seen from those two so far going forward and I was low on Darnold as a prospect when he came out. Baker just hasn't improved on his weaknesses enough for me to be that excited about him anymore.

Oops, yeah Daniel Jones. Wasn't high on him coming out of the draft and while he's probably done better than I thought, I still don't trust him as I still see a lot of the wildness and errors I saw on his college film.

spence's love is just a lot truer than all of ours. Love is blind. He sees what he wants to see. I give him credit for staying so positive and being himself ... especially with the rough crowd here.

I think the argument could be made that he's in the top 5ish moving forward, so, you add that with someone's Vikings love, yeah, I can see where someone could convince themselves he's better than he actually is.

Better than Mahomes and Wilson though? Absolutely not. Not even my undying Vikings love could convince me of that. BUT, I'm not spence. Dude is on another level! He puts my positivity and optimism to shame!
