1)Rodgers was in the discussion as the #1 overall pick, Love wasnt even in the top 25 on most boards and wasnt a top 3 QB prospect
2) Why take love and risk not getting Jefferson or Gladney who will help us now and next year. Plus Cousins is better and do you think a guy that threw a bunch of INTs in the Mountain West is gonna become a accurate QB in the NFL? He might but I'll take Cousins over him, hell I'll take Easton or Fromm who aren't turnover prone and were 3rd day picks over Love too.
3) maybe he will make a play for him in 2022 or maybe Rodgers will retire or maybe Rick spends a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a QB next year
How do you know any of our picks will turn out? Actually only 1 QB was known to be placed in a draft position and he isn't a sure fire pick by any means. 1 year starter that had to transfer to play because he couldn't beat out Haskins. If you're going off of internet rankings for teams you may want to try a new approach. Teams pick players they feel will help them not where draft "experts" place them.
I just laugh at people that want a player based on name or position that have no idea if they actually fit. How many OL picked in the first rd would have fit in zbs system? 2 maybe 1 sure fire in Jackson from USC Wirfs maybe.
Our first pick wasn't even the best WR at LSU and he got his best production from the slot. You know where Thielan thrives. So let's see what happens there. Most first year WR don't put up huge numbers.
I wouldn't get too cocky on the Vikings draft just yet. Let them prove their worth. Rick always looks good on paper but sure hasn't put it on grass.
You did notice Rick dipped his toe in water at WR and OT but sure didn't put it in very deep. That's not a sure fire fix when we had more issues then that. Lucky for us we get to have a bunch of corners since Zimmer cant coach them or Rick cant pick em.
Oh and some day Rick is going to have to get a QB in the draft still waiting on that OL not much better.
