I’d rather trade up for one of the big 4 OT prospects - Wills, Wirfs, Becton, or Thomas. I don’t think any of them slide past Denver at 15, and if they did, it would be quite the upset. We haven’t seen an OT draft class this top heavy in talent in some time. I doubt we’ll see it again as soon as next season when we need to make a decision on Reiff. If we were closer to contending for a Super Bowl I can see the appeal of trading for Williams. Personally, I’m still thinking 2020 is a re-tool year before making another 3-4 year run of good play. In a transition year, it would be ideal to let the OT draft pick along with Udoh/Samia get consistent snaps to develop into a solid OL group.
And if everything goes Tits up, 6-10 type year we clean house and the new staff is in a much better position long term.
Williams would make sense if we were one OT away from superbowl contenders and you didn't want to risk a rookie being the difference between a SB or not.
At that point, you can use 22 and 25 on a CB, DT, or OL type.... all of which we would still need after acquiring Williams.
