Again, read the thread title...  you sound you are applying for a job at the DN, with all the Teddy love, I know just about everyone there, I can put a good word in for you....  Honestly, I don't care why you aren't excited about the offense this season, I know I am and are many other Viking fans that saw a vast improvement on how the offense was run last season with Bradford and Shurmur.   You love to call Sam the checkdown king, did you know that the difference between Sam and Teddy's YPA was a WHOPPING 7.2 INCHES!!!! if you cant tell who the real checkdown king is, you obviously dont know how to watch QBs or football, With Sam facing 7 defenders that drop back he was forced to take what was given underneath, mostly because the 14 different OL men couldnt hold their block more than 3 seconds to allow the receivers to get open downfield, but sure, you blame Sam for that. maybe an optometrist visit is in your near future? As for Teddy, he faced 7 in the box because he had AP, and should have been throwing the ball deeper to his receivers that got open downfield, but his deep ball is horrible, remember Mike Wallace? Teddy couldn't throw a ball in his area code, he left and went to Baltimore and had a great season with Flacco. While at the same time Bradford helped 4 FOUR different receivers have career years!!  

The Teddy love by many fans is ridiculous, we are Viking fans, cheer for the team!!   I loved AP, but I knew it was time for him to go, I will now cheer for Murray and Cook to do a better job than what we saw last year at RB and hope we don't miss AP in the running part of the game, and I don't think we will. I also feel that Teddy fans have way too much "feelings" for Teddy and the "he is a nice guy" that it has obviously clouded peoples vision of what really happens on the field. in REALITY, he hasn't done anything more than what Ponder did, do I hope he comes back healthy and has a great career? absolutely I do, no one should have their career end of something like that, much like Robert Edwards did. But the proof is in the pudding, Sam had no help at RB or the 13-14 guys that played OL, and he still not only set an NFL record, but 4 FOUR!! receivers on the team had career years, he also was first in the league at completion percentage of passes over 20 yards, so OBVIOUSLY he can do it if given the time, plug in 2-3 new OL guys that can actually block, add Murray and Cook who can both catch, and Murray is a highly rated blocking RB, throw in a full off season, OTAs, Training Camp, time to work with only 1 OC, who loves him, and on top of that, Diggs, Thielen and Rudolph have another season under there belt, add in Floyd, Treadwell and Hodges and the WCO could be a top 10 very easily. Especially with defenses that fear Bradfords ability too throw short and deep, as well as read the defense.  TOP 10 OFFENSE!! 

Two things I didn't see from Teddy: the ability to get the ball out quickly and accurately and the ability to throw a deep ball on target a majority of the time.

Injury or no injury, a quarterback has to do those two things, or he will fail like Ponder did.

The unfortunate part of the business is that if Teddy is your #1 QB, you better have a great #2 for a couple of years to see if he can take the pounding. Do not know if I want to allocate my resources that way, but to each his own. I feel you take the sure thing(Bradford) and try and draft and develop the next true #1 over the next few years. Hopefully you find the right QB to draft.
Nothing against Teddy, I just feel his pay will only be slightly less than Bradford if he is the #1, and then for at least 2 years you have to way overpay to have the best #2 possible. I am not in that camp.

Lets be real, if Teddy wasn't a Viking even you would be saying he sucks. 14 TDs a season, is nothing more than a game manager, Christ, even Ponder had 18 TDs
And if those glasses are permanently stuck on your face, you may want to think how good do you think Brady would have done with that OL and no running game last season, but like I said, you're the smart one here, even though it seems a lot more people seem to be liking my comments....  I wonder why???  could be that I am correct.... 

In Bradford's career he's had 18, 6, 21, 14, 0, 19, and 20 TDs.

So Bridgewater had 14 TDs? Not great, but if by year 7 he manages 20 ... he'll be "the guy" somewhere, right? I mean, why not?

LMAO,  I feel like I just got scolded by the principal back in high school.  Injuries can happen at anytime, heck I have sneezed and threw out my back before, but, Sam injuries occured on the field during a game in which he was hit and tore his ACL twice, I lost mine playing softball when i collided with another player, Teddy's injury happened while dropping back for a pass in a non contact drill, and was way worse than either of Sams ACL tears, I dont know about you, but if I am the GM of the Vikings, I am very concerned about that, or even thinking about handing him a $20 million a year contract. Sam took a beating last season and got up every time, proved to a lot of people that he can take it, isnt as injury prone as people want to believe either, and his ACLs held up quite nicely.
As for who is actually better, Sam came out as the number 1 pick overall, because he was the real deal, could make every throw, and read defenses, his ceiling was Franchise QB for 10-15 years. Teddy was a first round pick, mostly because Norv wanted him so the Vikings traded up to get him, his ceiling is a good QB that can be serviceable with the right team.  I thinks Sams pedigree is still way higher, he just took a longer to showcase the talent he has. I wont bore you with how many different OCs he had, will just say he had a different one every year, including 3 this past season.
I am not looking for a Bradford emoji, those are trivial, cute sometimes, and can make your point sometimes as well, but totally cool if you dont have a Sam one...
