Coaches and GMs

Thanks for the summary.  IIRC, Shurmur is scheduled for a second interview this week.  We were all assuming this would be a "seal the deal" type formality, but here's how it will really happen:

Gettleman (NYG GM):  "Welcome to NY Pat, hope you had a nice trip."
Pat:  "Thanks"
Gettleman:  "Well, I know we've had some great talks, so it's nice to be able to say 'so long' and wish you the best face-to-face."
Pat: "Huh, what??  I though we had an understanding."
Gettleman: "Yeah, about that.  Since our first interview, there have been some 'developments' that changed a few things."
Pat: "That can't be.  That was just two weeks ago.  All I've done in the meantime is coach eight halves of football.  Didn't you see the miracle?"
Gettleman: "Yeah, we saw it, but the experts all says it was 100% due to the Saints f*ing up, so we've already forgotten about it."
Pat: "But I've been looking forward to leading the NYG the same way I've been leading the Vikings offense."
Gettleman:  (taking fake phone call from secretary) "Looks like we're out of time here Pat.  Again, best wishes with Case and your team going forward."
