Future guards already on the roster?

I share many of these thoughts.  Reiff might well flop just like Remmers.

I see what you guys are saying. I was just trying to give a outside the box thought.. Thinking maybe Udoh could surprise with a move inside. He may not even make the team who knows. I just see a high upside guy who could be molded if giving a opportunity and good coaching. Can't wait to see how things play out!

I'm new here and don't want to come off as a jerk but I don't feel the idea of getting Cleveland or Jackson in the third is very realistic. I don't think Cleveland gets out of the first round since he has tackle/guard flexibility and I would be surprised if Jackson is there for us in the third. I really feel that we need to go interior D-line and interior O-line with our first two picks. If that means trading back with one or both of them then so be it. You can have all the sexy first round WR's you want but how many catches will they make with Cousins on his back? I think we have too many holes (OL, DL, CB, WR) to fill them all with two first round picks.  To me you have to come away with one of Brown, Kinlaw, Blacklock, or Madubuike. The odds of any of them being there in the second round is close to 0. So you either have to trade up to try to get one of the first two or stay put and take one of the second two or trade back a few spots and hope someone doesn't then jump you for Blacklock. As far as the O-line goes I think G is a much bigger need than T. Ruiz can play all three inside spots and should be a day one starter and also a back-up center so that allows you to cut Elflein and/or Jones. In all the mocks I've run through the generators Jonah Jackson is sometimes there for our 2nd rounder (and sometimes not) but is never there in the third. i'm basing all of this on my experience studying mock drafts the last few years and really have no experience with 'real world' football. If they go WR or CB or OT I'll be excited to see how the new players pan out; it's just not what I would do. SKOL

I agree about the oline, but I do think if a ot is available at 22 or 25 and have a 1st round grade that fit our blocking scheme, then I would be all for it. I know it takes them time to grow, but it would come at a good time as our oline is pretty young now an a rookie ot can grow and hopefully keep the same line together for a long time. As for former Vikings I know, I don’t want to name drop but it is only 2 guys who are former players. Not close to either guy and haven’t seen either in years, but1 guy only made it to training camp once and was cut. The other guy was with team for a couple seasons.

If y'all read my intro post you see I was pretty accurate. Early on I had read Ezra Cleveland would go to guard, and was a 3rd rounder. He rose some in the pre draft process and the more I learned about him I felt he is a OT not a OG. I liked him from the beginning. This is my starter Oline which I like and see huge upside with 2 young athletic tackles and 2 strong young nasty guards and Bradbury at center..

Let me move this up closer to the front. Hearing rumblings that Oli Udoh had been moved to OG some in practice, and is in the plans there this year perhaps. I compared him to Osemele way back. I also mentioned drafting Ezra Cleveland, though we did get him in rd2 instead of rd3 at OG. Samia nasty not so much that was wrong but, My boy Oli may still prove Drank right.
